“Thoroughly enjoyable, just brilliant”

My wife gail decided to treat me to my 50th birthday by staying at the Raincliffe hotel. We have been to several hotels recently, all of which were good or satisfactory. The Raincliffe hotel however, was a cut above the rest. It is sometimes difficult to gauge whether people are sincere, a trait my wife and I both hold dear. Katherine and Mal were two of the sincerest hosts we have had the pleasure to meet and both have the comfort and well being of all their customers at heart. Put simply, the hotel was fabulous, providing an astonishingly large and delicious breakfast and first class, courteous service throughout. Katherine and Mal have every justification to be extremely proud of themselves, they are a credit to their profession. We will definitely return.

“A wonderful stay with a breakfast to die for”

My first visit to this hotel and it was everything I needed. The owner and staff were very attentive and helpful. I got the feeling that this was not just an occupation for them but was a passion. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the sea front or the city centre, and is set in delightful gardens. What a pity it was October, as I would have liked to take advantage of the patio area at the front. The hotel itself is homely and inviting. My room was spotless, the bed large, firm and comfy and the bathroom pleasant and clean. Now to the best bit, the breakfast! Served in a bright and spacious dining room with a lrage bay window overlooking the garden to the front of the building, the breakfast was huge, but what is more important, was cooked to perfection. Along with a large pot of tea or coffee, cereals if you wish for starters and toast to finish, I had to have a lie down afterwards before venturing out for the day. Needless to say, it lasted me all day and saved me money to boot as I did not have to buy lunch. I will definately be using this hotel in the future as it is fantastic value for money and along with the owner it made me feel so welcome and valued. I would highly recommend it to all, as you would be hard pushed to find better, even at some of the larger and more exclusive hotels.

A day / night out in Scarborough....we booked the Raincliffe and found it to be a very nice hotel, with great service and a nice breakfast. I just wish we could say the same about Scarborough itself !

“Best Breakfast Ever”

Found this hotel purely by accident, after staying in some not quite up to standard hotels and B & Bs in the resort. First impressions are not good as the access is by quite steep teps, but once inside all is forgiven. The hosts Mal and Kath are very attentive and helpfull. The bedrooms are adequatley sized with the bathroom well appointed. We never noticed the offending signs so have no cynical points to make. Now onto the breakfast after a choise of juices there is either cereal or the full English, which consists of bacon, egg, sausage, tomato, beans, Mushrooms, fried bread and black pudding. For the faint of heart any combination of the above is available along with a pot, not cup, of tea or coffee. We have stayed here three times and intend to return next year possibly with our daughter and family who will be on a visit from the U.A.E.
