If you are looking for a quiet and pleasant B & B in Scarborough I would certainly recommend the Marine View Guest House. This is situated on the North Cliff with lovely sea views and a few minutes' walk from the castle. Ian and Virginia are very welcoming hosts who go the extra mile and their breakfasts were fantastic. I would certainly stay here again if I ever returned to Scarborough.

The owners are consistently looking for ways to improve not only the presentation of the guest house but also what impact running such a business has on the environment. To that extent they have recently won an environmental award for which they should be particularly proud.

Ian and Virginia keep a very nice little Guest House and take good care of their guests.
The location is great with a fantastic view over the North Bay. 5 to 10 minutes walk into town and 5 minutes to the old town/harbour. A Sea-View Room is recommended for the small extra charge and if you like the roar of the sea at night, then this is an ideal venue for you. Comfortable mattress provided and very clean room, which is quite adequate and well-equipped. No lift, so top floors not for those with heavy luggage! Parking a problem in Scarborough as a whole, but parking pass provided by Ian, so only a short walk to find a space. Breakfast excellent as is service and attention from the proprietors. Stair carpet in need of replacement, but cheap and very cheerful!

Not a bad thing to say about the place. Our room was clean, airy and had a fantastic seaview, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom clean, breakfast was delicious and was served promptly, the owners were really nice.. Would definitely go there again.
