Visited early July of this year. Checked in and checked straight out within 5 minutes. Taken to room through bar, which had not been cleaned - dirty glasses on bar etc. Room not great -carpetted bathroom which didn't strike me as hygenic. To get to smoking area outside had to go through landlord's washing - underwear and all! Don't know about the food - didn't stay long enough. Complained to Booking.Com about the description/photo's on their site of this place as it was not at all representative of reality.

I stayed here because I wanted a historic inn. The owners are friendly. Breakfast was hot, tasty and hearty. The little room with just the toilet and wash stand (is that a 1/4 bath) is tiny, but clean. It was quiet. The bed is comfortable. The car park is down the street and around the corner. It was easy to get in and out of and free. No complaints at all, but it's not at all lavish. You can't beat it for the price however, so it's a good value.

Had a great weekend at the Red Lion. Lovely quiet village - really friendly hosts (and villagers) - didnt get to meet their dog before we left but hopefully will when we return this weekend. Food was exceptional, we had the family room which was really cosy and sufficient for the 3 of us. Used the bus which went from across the road - really handy and gave us a break from driving. Really looking forward to going back.

I had the family room at the back of the Red Lion, I am pretty sure I picked the best room. I enjoyed our stay hear,it was friendly with a hearty breakfast. The pub was very quiet and you could access the rooms without going through the bar. The beds were comfortable and clean. Some people would not like the avocado bathroom from the eighties, the chipped sink and carpet on the floor, but it did not bother me.
