we went there for my wifes 50th.birthday for 2 nights.A so called luxury suite,thats a joke. with bay windows overlooking the sea.Saturday night all hell breaks loose with the noise next door from 10.30 to 4a.m. I went to see the porter to complain twice.I informed him we would be leaving between 6/7a.m.could I see the manager or owner,as I was not paying for this experience,I spoke to the manager who passed me the phone to talk to the owner.I left without paying.HORRENDOUS OVERPRICED HOTEL

What a wonderful stay we had over this past weekend. I just
wanted to thank all the staff (including the lovely
gentleman who delivered our coffee each morning) for such genuine,
friendly yet really professional service. It was a pleasure to be
there.

Being in the same industry I know how difficult it is to please everyone
and get everything just right but you seem to manage this
extraordinarily well. I also believe that anywhere judged at offering
high standards should only be judged on how a problem is dealt with.
This is where you excelled!

Unfortunately my partner suffers from backache if he sleeps in a bed
which is too soft. We had to put one half of the mattress on the floor
in order for him to get a night''s sleep. The next morning the bed was changed
without any apparent effort for which we were really grateful. In all,
the staff made us feel that nothing was too much trouble and as a result
we had a truly memorable and relaxing stay, with wonderful food and such amazing coastal walks nearby too. A big thank you to everyone

We visited the restaurant last year and the food was very good but this year it has moved up a notch or two, to Superb. After eating once, we cancelled our reservations elsewhere and booked a further two meals here.

Beautiful elegant charm and not cheap, but you get amazing value for money. We will definitely advance book for most of our meals for next year.

First time to Sidmouth and The Riviera, certainly won't be the last. Excellent service and so friendly hotel employees from the Porter to the Managing Director.

The rooms were very comfortable and clean as a new pin, fresh towels each day too. Our room overlooked the sea front and with a bay window a pleasure to sit and take in the view

The resturant was modern and the food excellent with both an ala- carte and standard evening meal. Both offered good spread of choice and would suit most tastes. Can only be described as superb. A good range of wines although a little expensive

We left with an overriding impression of complete satisfaction, of maximum hospitality and good value for money
