We had a lovely room with a great view of the sea and the room was great. The staff were extremely helpful, it was a particularly cold night in January and the hotel was quite cold but the staff brought up a heater so that we could warm the room up. My husband had stayed there for the previous 4 nights but it was only Friday and Saturday that the noise from the nearby club became a problem. All during closing time singing, swearing and shouting, god only know what it is like in the summer. I am sorry to give negative comments for the hotel but if they have any "clout" in Sidmouth they should try and put a stop to this as customers will not return for a second visit.

Very glad we booked into Dukes for a couple of days R&R.
The room was very 'roomy' with a leather settee that we positioned in the bay window to look out over the beer garden and out to sea.
Our bathroom was a little on the small side but the vastness of the main room more than made up for that.
The ground floor bar sells good food & snacks during the daytime, and appears to be very popular with local families, and the restaurant is very good for the evenings.
Service was excellent throughout our stay.
We'd stay again certainly.

What a good choice we made. Travelling from Australia for an informal ceremony to return my Husband's ashes to Sidmouth, we had no chance to discuss arrangements until we arrived at mid-day the day before, 17th October 2011. At short notice Duke's provided a private area in their front lounges and a lovely buffet for up to 35 relatives and friends who joined us after the ceremony at Sidmouth cemetery. Everbody commented on how pleasant it was and around twelve of us ended the day with a meal which was very enjoyable. Seven of us stayed at the Hotel overnight. The rooms were extremely comfortable and breakfast a great start to the day. To all the Staff, thank you so much for making it a lovely experience.

Stayed at this Inn during October to attend a wedding in sidmouth. We stayed in room 11 which was clean and comfortable. There were nice touches, for instance I forgot to bring something to buff my wedding shoes up with but there were shoe polishers in the bathroom, hot chocolate and a decent tv to watch the World Cup on!
Good two nights sleep (including Saturday night), fantastic breakfast, reasonably priced, perfect location and friendly staff. If I return to Sidmouth, this is where i will stay :)
