We travelled with a young family, and we felt very welcomed by John and Kate, who were always very friendly, and made us feel at ease at all times. This is a very clean Bed and Breakfast.
Our room was the double, facing the back side, and it was very quiet.. The breakfast that John prepared for us each day was very good. Fresh Fruit, cereal, nice pot of tea and coffee, and full cooked breakfast with all the trimmings if you were up for it everyday.
The walk down to the beach takes about 15 mins, and is very nice. Parking is quite difficult on busy weekends, so walking is the way to go.
Sidmouth itself is a nice small beach town, getting a little dated now, with most of the hotels dating back to the 1950's or earlier, but overall, we enjoyed it. Nice pub called 'Dukes', that has fresh, local produce, and is recommended. Also the next town called 'Beer', was our favourite spot that we visited. You must go for a drive and have lunch at the beer garden that over looks the ocean.
