“A bed for the night but little more”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2007

Nice enough room but I was offended by the standard of the inclusive breakfast buffet. Apparently I could have paid extra to have a proper choice of cereals and fruit but I would only expect to see something like this in a second-rate boarding house in Blackpool (sorry Blackpool). It gave me no confidence in the likely quality of the options that I would have paid for, including the cooked food, so I didn't waste my company's money. See photo - yes that really was the entirety of the offering and I was down quite early. Staff were not actually rude, but were disinterested.

“Nice building shame about the service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 July 2007

As others have said this is a very clean hotel and the rooms are extremely comforable. The bed in particular was great.

Where this hotel falls down is in its standard of service. Nothing is terrible but little things added up to give us a bad impression.

The email from the hotel confirming the booking was headed up "Arora International" which led me to believe that they'd actually booked us into the wrong hotel. They have anpther hotel called "Arora International" near by.

Checkin was poor. Their systems rejected the card we wanted to use. Having suggested that we had a dodgy card then then finally worked out it was their systems at fault.

We had fun and games with internet access. I've used my laptop wirelessly in dozens of hotels without any problem. For some reason it didn't work here- in fact I don't think their wireless internet was working but they didn't admit this. We had to go back to reception and queue for 20 minuted to get a cable. On getting back to the room we couldn't find the connection point. In order to get to it we finally had to move the tc and the fridge!!

All in all it's not a bad place to stay if you have to stay near the airport but I certainly wouldn't go there again.

“Good overnight stop at Heathrow”

We wanted a room for the night before an early morning flight to Heathrow. We booked it through an airport parking and hotel website (can't remember which one now) and it was EXCELLENT value for money.

Yes, there are hotels slightly nearer to Heathrow but this one is only a little bit further away - hardly noticeable really and the free shuttle to the airport is great too.

Our room was lovely - very very clean, well furnished with good amenities. We ate dinner in the restaurant downstairs (Indian food) and it was really nice.

The hotel is modern, secure inside (you need your key card to use the lift), secure parking in an underground carpark, close to Heathrow but above all really solid excellent value for money.

Can't really fault it for sheer value and convenience.

  • Disliked — Getting stuck in the lift!

“Not really a 4-star”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2007

Pluses and minuses for this hotel. It’s relatively near the future Heathrow Terminal 5 and no doubt room prices will increase significantly once the terminal opens. In the meantime, decent prices at their own Web site.
We booked a double executive smoking room. On arrival we were told that they had none available but would put us in non-smoking room and would “send up an ashtray”. This was despite a notice in the room asking guests not to smoke. As a non-smoker, I took note of this; my wife, the smoker, was happy!
The room was very clean, modest in size, larger that some 4-star Heathrow hotels, but not substantially so. Just what was “executive” about the room mystifies me – a small desk / vanity table, an upright chair, a small easy chair, and an empty mini-bar. Acceptable cupboard and drawer space, but not generous. A wall mounted unit with iron and board-cum-trouser press, and tea / coffee facilities. Excellent soundproofing, but at a penalty of being unable to open the window. Good and heavy curtains. Only one face towel, but two bath towels. Requested a second, which quickly arrived. Room make-up on day two reverted to a single towel!
As mentioned by others, secure car parking and key-card secured elevator. Reception issued only one key-card which resulted in my wife being stranded in the lobby!
Breakfast is served in the cramped Nepalese restaurant and was poor – tea and coffee served from Thermos flasks – why not hot water and a choice of teabags? Fresh fruit, yoghourt cost extra. Cereals and milk included. Cooked breakfasts greasy and cooked in old oil. Croissants “not available on Sunday”.
The lack of ambience in the restaurant caused us to decide not to take dinner there. Room service was very basic – a selection of soups, sandwiches, Nepalese, and basic European (omelettes, pizza, burger). Don’t take the fish and chips – overcooked and swimming in oil. Service quick but poor – cling film over everything, minimal condiments.
Opinion – a recently-built three star masquerading as a four star. Would I stay here again? Not through choice.

“Ok”

The hotel isn't far from LHR but there are closer airport hotels! The hotel is extremely clean + my room was cleaned every day - spotless. Room service is crap - embarassing really - with cling film covering your plate!!!
Also upon check out, I asked if I could store my bags somewhere safe + they tried to charge me £4!!! I have travelled extensively + never have I had to pay to store my luggage!!!
Also, the reception staff have not got a clue! I was told 4 different check out times! I only stayed here as my company paid for it but wouldn't choose to come back here!
