Dead flies on the window sill in such abundance, I thought they had kamikaze specials in, should have put on on the alert; but we only wanted a bed for the night, so dropped our bags and set off. We asked the receptionist where the Twinwood Arena was as we were going to the Proms. "Oh," she said, "Loads of people have been asking that today and I haven't got a clue" (shouldn't you be aware of local amenities and IF more than one person is asking for information, shouldn't you at least found out for anymore guests who ask?)
So coming back at 12.30 and going into the room we were aware of something 'scurrying' in the bathroom. The large centipede wasn't put off by the light and continued dancing across the bathroom floor - to be joined by his friend by the toilet - yuck. Having desposed of them to a watery end; we went to bed exhausted as we had an early start - so it seemed did the large beetle who popped out from under the bed as I got up to go to the bathroom.
ENOUGH, we had a quick shower and left.
The room couldn't have been more BASIC. Only one pillow each, no bathmat, one handtowel and the smallest bar of soap ever (at 15grams, that's less than an ounce!)
We paid £50, although I know that deals are being done by Travelodge we weren't able to get one and the insects stayed for free!
