Just an overnight stay.
Situated to the NW of Bedford on the edge of industrial estate and residential housing. Set back off a busy urban minor road. Large well-lit car park which has no restrictions on use after 1800hrs daily and all weekend. Unsure rest of time as automatic barrier notice mentions tokens I think. Arriving on a Friday night we had no problems.
Check-in was very quick and efficient with friendly receptionist. Cardkey access to corridors and allocated room.
Our room was on the ground floor and it appeared a bit smaller than usual. In fact, looking at the Fire Escape Plan on the inside of the bedroom door, it appeared to be the smallest of the lot ! But no matter; small and quiet is fine.
The Travelodge being fairly new, our room was very clean and in good decorative order. Everything worked except the bathroom pedal bin (pedal broken). Shower, no bath. Decent TV. Tea/coffee as usual. No other frills.
No food on site. We ended up at a pub/restaurant about three miles away - next to the other Bedford Travelodge (Goldington) by chance ! So be prepared to travel for food; plenty of choice in Bedford about 5-7 mins away by car.
No noise overnight, either from traffic or guests. Most satisfactory.
Good for an overnight but for longer term there is not much in the area as far as we could see. Nevertheless, superb value as we only paid £10 for the overnight, booked some months previously.
Would definitely use again.
