booked in to the night owl as we were up to visit a family member in hospital. had travelled up from bedfordshire and left at 4a.m. in the morning as the visit was quite urgent. when we arrived,, we wondered if we had done the right thing from the outer appearance. But when arriving back in the evening after visiting at the hospital we were exhausted. I can honestly say that it was perfect for the purpose. the room was spotlessly clean, there was lots of hot water for a bath and that bed........that was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. We didn't eat there because we just didn't have the time. but the staff that we saw we friendly and helpful. its not pretty, but its lovely and clean and if you're just looking for a stopover, this place is perfect for the price.

Sir, some of your coments may or may not be true. But you get to personel. The lady you mention is also site manager on many occasions when she is on duty (as such has to attend all areas of the site). She is also a very helpful lady and knows the area well to offer help. I wounder if she and the young lady you mentioned has asked "tripadviser" web manager to provide your details to hand to there legal advisers? I WOULD.

Parked in the lorry park for a night and had a few pints in the bar.
The barmaid sat with this tall chap both on their laptops all night long. Says it is the best job in the world where else could she get money for nothing.

The cafe - worst service I've ever had. The miserable cook is like something out of a horror film. Don't ever complain to her about the food. Waitress: good looking but walks around with a face like a smacked bottom. The bottomless cup of tea is good value though. Food not too bad. Overall a 1970s greasy spoon. Took me right back to the 70s. Would we come again: Yes just for the sheer fun and entertainment. The dirty looks we get off the staff is fantastic.
