Parked in the lorry park for a night and had a few pints in the bar.
The barmaid sat with this tall chap both on their laptops all night long. Says it is the best job in the world where else could she get money for nothing.

The cafe - worst service I've ever had. The miserable cook is like something out of a horror film. Don't ever complain to her about the food. Waitress: good looking but walks around with a face like a smacked bottom. The bottomless cup of tea is good value though. Food not too bad. Overall a 1970s greasy spoon. Took me right back to the 70s. Would we come again: Yes just for the sheer fun and entertainment. The dirty looks we get off the staff is fantastic.

We arrived at the night owl & thought "oh sweet jesus what have we done"
But we went inside & the lady on reception was very nice.
The rooms were clean and had decent TVs!
We went for a night out in carlisle and arrived back about 1:30am & the shop etc was still open which was great.
The only minor complaint I have about this place was the 'bed' I slept on was a sofa bed which kinda collapsed in the middle, but on the whole it was cheap clean & a short taxi journey into carlisle.

Not a hotel but a motel, and the dodgiest ever! It's really cheap, and I think this might fool most people. The entrance is through a petrol station shop, then up some dull stairs, then into a poor, worn, dirty bedroom with one clean thing: the sheets (although in the morning, while checking out, I found the new sheets for the room nicely resting on the floor outside the door!). the best thing ever: complimentary biscuits packets - already opened. myself and my boyfriend had a laugh about the whole thing - but i think a more mature person, and not a backpacker like us, could really find the hotel disturbing. the car park looks like the perfect drug dealing spot. brrrrrr. better book the premier in across the road.
