We stayed at the Carlisle Central Premier inn for one night in order to attend a birthday party of a friend. We got to the hotel early but our room was ready and the check in was very efficient and friendly, and the receptionist explained the Premier Inn “Good Nights Sleep” policy. When we got to our room it was spotlessly clean. I only have two gripes about the room one is the shower, it was useless! And the second one was the pillows, which were thin cheap and uncomfortable! On the plus side it’s is nice to be able to adjust the room temperature to one own preference. The hotel is attached to a Brewers Fayre Pub, which I think let the excellent service in the hotel down. We popped in for a drink at 4pm, admittedly it was busy, but we had to wait 15 mins to get served. We also went back into the pub at 6pm before we went out and again had to wait at least 10 min to get served, it seemed like a total lack of bar staff was blame! Breakfast was also served in the Brewers Fayre, it had the potential to be so good, with lots of choice, unfortunately the coffee was undrinkable, and all the components of the cooked breakfast very luke warm! I shouldn’t have been surprised really, because I have yet to have a decent breakfast at a premier inn!

We stayed here because we had to be in Carlisle next day and the weather forecast was bad so we wanted to be sure we wouldn't miss our meeting.

Easy to find, good car park, made to feel very welcome on arrival. We noticed that some of the rooms were in an annexe, which would have made it a long run in the rain and dark for breakfast; luckily we were in the main hotel. The room was as usual for a Premier Inn, high standard for a budget hotel.
Evening meal in the adjoining restaurant was basic, plenty of choice but not exciting. Next time we'll try the "all you can eat" menu.

Overall, its a good place for a one night stay, or as a stopover just off the top of the M6 for very long journeys, but I wouldn't stay here for more than one or two nights.

great location 15 mins walk to carlisle , hotel+rooms well maintained. pleasent staff .food very good , cant fault.

Only gripe was that staff were very slow at clearing vacated tables in the evening.
Everything else was at the high standard we now expect from a Premier Inn.
