We have just returned from a weekend break in Carlisle and stopped at Warwick lodge. We had a great weekend and the B&B is fantastic. We arrived by train on Saturday and after a short 10 minute walk (at the most) straight up the road from the station we arrived at Warwick lodge. Our hosts made us feel very welcome and our rooms were really big (they included a large comfy bed, TV/DVD player, and nice chairs with a good sized en-suite bathroom). The room was really clean, nice and warm (which was ideal when returning from a cold day out) and light and airy. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice and the size of the cooked option sets you up for the day (no need for lunch). Carlisle is a great place for shopping and the Christmas market was a good size and well worth visiting. We also visited Settle on the train (a 2 hr picturesque train journey from Carlisle). We would defiantly return to Carlisle and Warwick Lodge would be our first choice for accommodation, thank you for a great stay.

Nick and Mary will welcome you at their doorstep with broad smiles and a humor that shows itself after a brief acquaintance. They keep their accommodations clean and fresh and serve a sumptuous breakfast (that some may want to pare down a little). The home is on a fairly quiet residential street a pleasant walk from downtown Carlisle. Nite time activities are down the road and don't encumber the sleep of the day worn traveller.

I can't help but sing praises for this B&B. The hosts, Nick & Mary were welcoming, helpful and served an awesome breakfast. Everything on the buffet table was fresh and delicious and the cooked to order breakfast was excellent. We had alcove room 5 upstairs (the purple room) and it was lovely with decorative details and tastefully decorated. We also enjoyed the "no fog" mirror in the bathroom. For dinner, Nick recommended the BeeHive Pub, about a 10 minute walk from the B&B. It was filled with locals and was an excellent value.
We used Carlisle and it's central location as a base to visit Edinburgh. One could also use it to visit Hadrian's Wall. We would definitely stay here again.

On a recent business trip to Carlisle I came across this establishment on the web. I contacted the owner and explained that I required a single room but being extra tall (6' 7") was concerned that their beds would not accommodate my size. I had not need to worry as Mrs Arnison stated she would put me in a double bed. True to her word I was given a very comfortable double bed at no extra cost. The following morning a plentiful breakfast was presented. Nick and Mary Arnison are friendly and helpful even to the extent that they offered to drive me to the business address I was visiting. From this visit I have recommended the B&B to my work colleagues
