“Looking for a good local”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

We went for an evening meal last Saturday with friends searching for a good local hotel to eat regularly. We had the restaurant to ourselves which was a pity. The staff were very helpful and polite. We had a combo starter which was a little cold and felt it was from the freezer. One person had Cumberland Sausage which was lonely with just potato.
Three of us had fresh fish. Two in breadcrumbs -these were very good. The battered fish was OK. but fresh fish was a bonus.
The hotel is convenient with a good feel. However the decor is getting worn and outdated.
What a great place it could be with updating, happy hour meals etc.

Hi Bertie,

Thank you for your comments. Since you were last in, we have a new menu and it includes an early bird special and our new pie factory. The popular things like fish and chips remain but things like the combo haven't been so lucky!
Hope to see you again in the future,
Mark Lowther,
General Manager.

“Great Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

Booked for a one night stay for business. Found that for the price i paid the hotel offers fantastic value for money. Not only was the room that i booked great but the service in the evening and at breakfast was worth writing about also. All in all a great hotel made better by the efforts of the staff. Will definitely stay again.

Hi Thomas,

Thanks for the comments on the food. We have a new menu launched in February 2012, so you'll have to come back in to sample it.

“Autumn break in Carlisle”

My wife and I stayed at the Cumbria Park along with other members and wives of the East Fife Male Voice Choir. We stayed at the hotel from the 13th - 19th October 2011. Whilst no longer part of the Best Western franchise, we had a very enjoyable stay. The hotel is family owned and run, and a lot of effort is put in to a very warm and welcoming experience for their clients. The breakfasts were ample in both variety and quantity as were the evening meals.
We will certainly consider a return visit.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 2nd floor in the recently refurbished part of the hotel are very good. 402,403,404 all...

“Good stay will be back”

I decided to book here even though some reviews varied. I made a good decision. I booked a superior double room for 2 nights and got a discount for 2 nights. The room was very smart with 3 large surfaces to store our things. A huge wardrobe with drawers, ironing board, air fan, spare pillows and blanket, smart hangers. A huge bed, a large flat screen tv, seriously good central heating, a bathroom with overhead shower which worked well and was exceptionally clean.A large dressing table and a desk console to work at. It has free wifi. The room had 2 chairs and good tea coffee items and a trouser press. I was impressed. All staff were smart, helpful and pleasant. The breakfast had a good choice and was served in a very smart dining room. We had one evening meal which was good value and we had 2 good courses. This place is very good value for money. It has a bus stop close to get into Carlise. It has a good large car park.

Room Tip: Go for a superior double at the rear
