Stayed recently here and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.
Room was large and clean with bath and shower ,free carparking, free wi-fi and next door to the rail station.
Food was excellent both dinner and breakfast, pool and gym available a short walk away paid extra at a reduced cost.
Staff were very friendly and attentive dont remember many names but Antionio in the bar and one of the managers Angus Macmillian both are a credit to the establishment and a great asset to the hotel.
Cant understand the bad reviews, must be some very fussy people around.
DONT LISTEN TO THEN,, try for yourself then make up your mind.
All in all a great time was had all round,, will be back,,

Dirty and in need of a refresh! It's only redeeming feature was the little Indian waiter, who was polite, helpful and just as horrified as we were at the dirty plates and hair in the food.

Just outside Carlisle railway station this is very convenient for getting on the Settle to Carlisle railway or coming in form the Cumbrian Coast railway. Pleasant and helpful reception. Smart, very comfortable and a nice promptly-served breakfast, even though the kitchen is down a long corridor! Short walk into the town (in our case in the pouring rain!). Excellent for travellers.

Hi just back from the hallmark alovely warm andfriendly hotel very clean rooms spacious and fantastic shower the breakfast cooked to perfection we had a meal and the steak was amazing with hand cut chips and home made onion rings no frozen rubbish Iwould like to say abig thanks to claire thanks for my birthday card it meant alot you have a wonderful staff from reception to cleaners everyone made us feel very special Carlisle is agreat place to shop and a very nice town we will be back thankyou all so much
