4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 May 2012

we stayed at the Fountandale for two nights the hotel was spotless and the breakfast was excellent best ever nice and friendly people the only fault we had was 830 breakfast and having to be out of your room by 930 although you could go back during the day. Having said that we would certainly go for a return visit

Room Tip: the room we had number 1 on the front was very quiet and as their was double glazing everywhere i wo...

“I'm running a business here !!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 April 2012

Appears a nice looking B & B . My husband and I booked a 2 night stay ( cost 110 pounds)and were allocated room 3. Twin room , rather small, lots of niggles i.e. clock in room broken, plug in basin broken, tilting bathroom mirror broken ( wouldn't tilt upwards) poor lighting, no heaters switched on for arrival making room cold & unwelcoming. Worst thing only ONE hand towel given between the two of us. It was not changed during stay and we had to dry it off on towel rail. Ugh Ugh unhygienic and loppy !! BUT the worst thing about this place is the sheer uncompromising attitude of the woman in charge. We booked on the net and yes we got all the bumph about this penalty and that forfeit but on the morning we were due to set off we were deluged and blocked in our home by one of the worst snow falls in a long time.I rang to explain we were stuck but I was not allowed a refund or to put our holiday back a week. All this woman could say was ' I'm running a business here ' a quote she used parrot like all through our conversation. She also wanted to know if we wanted to cancel as she did not want the room empty. Why what did it matter when we had paid for it? She wasn't sure if we could travel down the next day (why?) and we eventually said we would try and travel later the same day as the snow might ease then. She refused to wait in for our arrival (I'm running a business) so I arranged to ring when we left home.I think this lady has much to learn in her Customer Relation skills. If you don't look after your customers you won't have a business TO run !! She is in the hospitality trade. The definition of Hospitality is "Kindness in welcoming strangers or guests". Well there was no kindness (or help or understanding) shown to us by this woman and her inflexible attitude. We shall not return !!!!

“TOP CLASS BNB well deserving of its stars”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

we stayed at the fountaindale in skegness for a mid week break, (it was classed as a 3 day special break). what a corker, the room we had(10) was beautiful and well furnished, no expense spared, lots of toiletries, wine and chocolates on arrival and fresh fruit in our room. Freeview tv. the room was serviced daily by the lovely doreen, she was a delight, the breakfast was amazing the choice was amense, strawberries, blackberries, melon, fresh pineapple, peaches, yougart, nuts, home made musli, loads of choice for cereals, juices and to top it all a full breakfast. I can honestly say it was fabulous value for money. car parking was an added bonus, all in all FAULTLESS. We have booked already for our February break.
