The minute you walk into this hotel you are greeted by attentive staff, the open wood fires burning and that aroma of the burning woods. This hotel has not changed much since those days that it was used as a stage coach stop back in the 16th century and earlier. Many features / markings can be found on the stone walls relating back even further into history circa 11th century. The decadent dinning rooms, the whole atmosphere is wonderful, the service and food is par excellence, what more do you require. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. Give it a try, yes it might be of the beaten track, but you will not be disappointed, even if it is only for lunch.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review about your stay with us. We have so many comments about the open fires, they do add something special to the hotel, especially at Christmas time. It was also great to read that everything was excellent for you from the staff to the food and rooms and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon.
