Off to Birmingham to meet up with some friends from University. We found this place which was close to Sutton and a train into town. Really good stuff - staff very helpful and very handily placed for the Brewers Fayre for a really good breakfast.

The staff at this hotel should be commended for the support and help they gave late at night on Saturday 15th of October 2011 because if it wasn't for them our party would not have had accommodation, depite advance booking into Birmingham Central Travelodge. Firstly we'd been sent after overbooking occured from Birmingham central, whose staff were absolutely useless, lacking in both customer relations & social skills. Travelodge Streetly had no idea we were coming, but went all out to help us, they were even lied to by Birmingham central. Fortunately the staff at Streetly were able to sort out the mess, the hotel was clean, comfortable, if we didn't have something we only needed to ask & it was provided, even a resturant & cab at 11pm at night. Definitely recommend it lovely atmosphere, despite the stress they'd been put under, staff were so lovely & friendly it turned out to be the better hotel. It would be my first choice if I required accommodation in Birmingham again.

Stayed there one night in September 2011. Booked a double room. Here are some of the issues. Website for this travelodge says that family rooms do not have a bath. However neither do doubles. Only one large and one one small towel, disposable cups like you get at cold water dispensers in offices, no soap of any kind in bathroom, broken fittings in bathroom and room itself, most of the light switches not connected to anything, mattress springs creaked and groaned. Got a response 18 days after 3 on-line complaints. Travelodge replied I should have checked (by phone?) with the actual travelodge re eg bath but surely the website for that actual location should be correct. They think one set of towels ok, just ask for more at reception. No response to broken/not working fittings, bathroom shortcomings. One positive, staff person on reception was very amenable. Travelodge credited cost of room to my account as vouchers for use at a Travelodge in the future. Will never be used. This location has had its day. For a 3 night trip in October we used a Premier Inn and it was terrific.

As we were coming to visit my brother and his family, we needed a place to sleep in. Travelodge streetly was just around the corner, making it top location for us. It's a small plane motel, providing small clean rooms at a very low rate. The staff was friendly and helpful.
