Stayed here for one night due to a wedding near by and we had a discounted room which at the discounted rate was still in our opinion, more than we would have expected to pay for a room at this b&b. It is called a hotel but is definitely more b&b than hotel.
When we turned up after a long journey on a cold day, we found our room to be cold and we couldn't even make a cup of tea to warm us up as the tea cups still had the tea in them from the previous occupants.
The rest of the room itself was clean though. We had a four poster bed room which was all that was left when we booked. It was a large bed for a small room but thankfully we were at the back of the b&b as it is located on quite a busy road and even at the back we could hear the traffic. Thin walls also meant we could hear quite a lot going on from within our room.
Breakfast on a Sunday was only on offer until 9.30am which is early by our standards and other hotels we have stayed at. The breakfast room looked quite dark so we did not bother to make the effort to use it, preferring to lie in on a rare trip away from the children.
Very disappointingly, there was no hot water for us to shower in, in the morning. My husband went to ask about it and we were told it was because the were 30 guests staying and therefore it was affecting the hot water! I went down 20 mins latere to speak to the staff about something else and was told exactly the same thing, that there was a large number of guests which had affected the supply of hot water. I explained that in this day and age, i had not experienced a hotel thAt could not supply hot water to all their guests with hot water to shower in. The lady i spoke to agreed with me and apologised for the inconvenience. 20 mins later we went to check out and my husband was really cross about the lack of hot water, he gets a arsh that covers his arms and back when he has to shower in veery cold water so was not able to shower properly. We had our bags packed and were clearly ready to leave.
We were offered £5 off our room rate to compensate for the lack of hot water! Pretty insulting really when the discounted rate was £95! When my husband stated it was a rather insulting amount of compensation to be offering, the lady went to get the manager who was incredibly rude and said that the boiler had tripped and she was about to come and tell us that we could stay as long as we wanted and take a hot shower now if we wanted.
Pretty ridiculous really when we weere clearly packed and ready to leave. Would not recommend unless you want to leave there feeling cold, both physically and from the staff attitude.

What a sad review when as a hotel the team did their utmost to accommodate!
When you receive a urgent call demanding a room to be ready for them by 11 am check in order to make a wedding engagement you fear it may not be possible. However the team rallied to ensure the room was ready on arrival. Tea tray to follow. Hence, a smile and thank you would have made it all worth while. The staff here work extremely hard and gratitude is expressed by many guests both returning and new. I urge you to address staff and generally people with courtesy rather than such a condescending tone especially with other guests to consider in the hotel.
If the rate is too high for ones pocket then surely better to find an alternative hotel room than look for excuses to warrant a reduction.
