Excelent management. The owner/manager is a very helpful person. Very good value for money. A little far from town centre. Taxi fares in Taunton are on the high side.

A warm welcome and a very good breakfast (could not fault it at all to be honest). Room was generally clean with comfy beds but the decor of the whole building requires a major update. To be blunt if you wish to time-travel back to 1976 then this the b&b for you otherwise travelodge it instead.

When we arrived we were a little surprised at the state of the exterior of the hotel. It looked quite frayed at the edges, as did the inside, but then we met the Graham, the host, all was forgiven.
So hey, it is frayed at the edges but after being there for a short time we thought it added to its charm. The room we had was large, clean, and with all the amenities we needed. It is an old fashioned place, but we hadn't come to buy it only to stay there for a couple of nights. Graham is a lovely person, he couldn't do enough for his guests. His breakfasts were delicious and very nicely presented. There was a couple from America staying there who had stayed 4 or 5 times previously and they couldn't say enough in praise of Graham. I agree with them.
I have read some of the other reviews that said they didn't like the place, well we did, and we would certainly stay there again, so Graham, thanks for a very nice weekend and we hope to see you again sometime.

We read the other reviews and went ahead and booked anyway.The owner Graham is so pleasant and friendly it would be hard to offend him. We were made very welcome and shown to our room shortly after arrival.The room was spacious, quiet and with clean bedding and towels.Yes,one may say the place could do with a lick of paint.We need a clean bed, quiet room, value for money and an appetising breakfast.We got all we asked for. We spent 99% of our time away from the hotel, so is it really that important that it needs a bit of decoration? I think not. All the staff are so helpful and welcoming we will be using the hotel again.We would recommend.But not to snobs.
