“Stay at Travelodge!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2011

people found this review helpful

Would much rather stay at a Travelodge, as Tall Trees only beats it on price & breakfast.

Was being watched everytime I went to the car and back by the male owner, he made no attempt to hide this fact, and confronted me at times to see what I was doing.

Central heating on/off at management’s discretion, which meant off from 11pm-7am.
Wanted to use an Iron in the morning, only to be told ‘everythings closed’.
Advertised as 11am checkout, was told 1030, no exceptions.
Located on top of M21, my room was extremely noisy due to passing traffic.
Stains on duvets, carpets. Tiny TV with poor reception.
Barely working shower.

Room Tip: Specify you don't want room number 5, it's located on top of the M62.

“Ideal For My Needs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

I really can't see how anybody can moan about this place, I booked a single room (£32) but when I arrived I was told I had been allocated a double which was well appreciated as I had just riden 260 miles from Kent and was looking forward to a good kip! The gentleman that owns the hotel gave me a secure spot for me to park my bike and he and his wife where very friendly (some hoteliers can be a bit frosty with bikers). The motorway noise did not bother me and the room was clean and spacious, the shower was hot with plenty of pressure. I had to get an early start so did not have the breakfast but I am sure it would have been good.

“Spooky hotel, I wouldnt even call it a hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2011

Didnt like it at all. The rooms had this smell of wett and it was so bad that we didnt even use the bathroom to take a shower. The hotel was spooky, not certainly 3 stars, and it costed not less than other hotels in the area.

“Not the best!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2011

We only stayed for 1 night..... thank God.
The guest house is next to the M62 and to make matters worse, our room was the end one, we could not have got closer if we had asked! so all we could hear was the sound of the vehicles whilst in the room.
The room (5) is in need of decoration, the bed was ok but was not impressed by someone elses hair in the bed sheets! The pillows were thin and not comfortable.
The toilet had some pipe housing next to it so you had to sit on at an angle.
We gave the shower a miss.
The "continental breakfast" was a choice of 3 cereal, toast and a croissant, continental... not!
It was not what I expected, and I would not reccomend.
On a positive, the staff/ owners are nice

“small friendly and clean”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 July 2011

great stay, the breakfast was not very exciting, but the bedrooms were really comfortable with coffe and tea making faciilities and a large bathroom. I will stay there again. the people were really friendly. Must say that because of the motorway I had to sleep with the window closed, this I don't like.
