“Very good value for the money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

We stayed at this hotel for one night in November 2012. It was a good, online deal - the hotel costed just 12 GBP. For that little money it was a very decent choice - clean rooms, complimentary coffe and tea. WiFi was available, but for quite high charge. Staff was quite friendly and helpful. Good location, close to the center of the town. However, it was quite noisy during the day because of the construction works just next to the hotel.

“not great, but not as bad as the other reviews make out!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Stayed here for two nights in October. We didn't have any issues with the cleanliness or staff. The hotel was handy for the town centre. However there is a bar on the ground floor of the building which totally ruined our trip due to the noise both nights.

Room Tip: Avoid the front of the hotel!

“Not fit for habitation”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2011

Firstly I stay in travelodge hotels every week, so know what to usually expect. -Basic but clean and functional, which is all you are paying for.
Whilst this place is reasonably new, it certainly has had a hard life! It is disgraceful.
I made the mistake of my family come with me on a trip and we had to leave the next morning.
First no travel cots as they were all apparently broken, first family room was disgusting. Visible residual vomit on the walls and remains on carpet, other staining evident on most walls and carpet.
Asked for another room and was given another, which thankfully did not have the vomit on walls but the carpet was filthy. I ended up covering floor area with sheets and towels as I couldn't let my children walk on such filth. Bed wise the mattress was done and we all 4 ended up trying it sleep on the sofa bed. Not a good night.
All reception said is 'the wrong paint has been used on the walls it shouldn't be Matt', not quite such sure what paint would fix these problems!
Anyway, I have stayed myself and found it passable, but this time was clearly not on!

“The worst Travelodge room I've had!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2011

I was expecting the room to be ok as it's a fairly new hotel, but obviously has had a lot of workmen staying there due to the amount of filthy hand prints on the walls.
The mattress was saggy and uncomfortable and offered no support for a couple.
The bathroom walls were stained. The bathroom bin was rusty.
Cigarette burn on the sofa, yet it's a non-smoking hotel.
No remote control for the tv.
Not enough pillows for one each and there were no more available.
Our room was located next to the dual carriageway so got a lot of noise and late night sirens.
When other people used their bathrooms the water pipes banged and clanged, not good when you're trying to sleep.
Hopefully not all the rooms are in such a state as the one we had.
Service was mediocre.
Wouldn't want to stay here again.
Only good thing about the hotel is it's very central.
