“like looking for the Holy Grail”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 July 2011

My son and I booked this hotel online, and on our way we were delayed and phoned ahead to ask if a meal would still be available as restaurant closes at 9pm. The lady assured us that it would not be a problem. BUT. Because there is only one advertisment sign close to the hotel which is in an industrial estate which use to serve an airport we went round in circles until we eventually came to the hotel which has a large model plane on it's porch roof. Once inside the owner was well laid back and very helpful telling us to take our time and then he'd show us to the restaurant. The meal was one of the best we had ever eaten and very reasonably priced. Our twin room was spacious enough and clean and tidy although a little out of date as was the bathroom. BUT all we needn't was a bed, a bath/shower and food and this catered for all. For those who don't expect Savoy style accommodation for a small price then this hotel, with all it's faults is very good value for money.

Room Tip: The only thing we found not to our taste was the tea and toast breakfast which we had to fetch for o...

“Wipe your feet on the way out!...”

I stayed 1 night in this excuse for a hotel, the place isnt signposted at all from the main road and using my columbo powers of detection i eventually found the place. The outside resembles a gypsey camp site and with the dog hair in the flower beds more like a bosnian mass grave!...The staff were present and showed me how to open the main door - didnt tell me anything else about the facilities available - if there were any..??The room was well equipped for a 1 night stay,a wall mounted tv, a kettle with coffee and milk.. although the decor is tired and shabby. The bathroom had mould in the tile grout, The duvet was paper thin and the pillow felt as though i was sleepng on a pizza box. The curtains allowed more light in when drawn - so i was kept awake by the glowing orange security light outside, it was like close encounters of a third kind.. Breakfast was something from a hostel, and the cooked breakfast you had to pay for - this isnt advertised on the website!...I have stayed in some dodgy places in my 19yrs in the Armed Forces - but this place is like a bad night in bosnia.

We arrived at the hotel and thought what the hell is this we checked in very friendly staff got to our room clean warm and spacious for the price we paid for three rooms (doubles that is) would have cost double in any nearest establishment Graham and Cath were always on hand to ensure the stay was enjoyable if you read any bad reviews on this hotel I suggest you take time and spend one night there and then make up your own mind (The only down side for us was we were on a budget so could not afford to eat there each night) but the one night we did good value.

Graham and Cath Thanks for a great stay see you in a few months for my sons passing out parade.

“Gone down hill a little!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2011

after writing a very good review last time i stayed a year ago I was very disappointed this time. The room we were shown too hadnt been heated up prior to arriving so very cold.i had to ask for an extra blower heater which rumbled on for an hour or so each time we used it.the beds werent as nicely made and room dingy and when i mentioned i hadnt enjoyed my room and stay as much as last time the lady from liverpool just sat in the dining hall watching the tele and said "oh what a shame".we wont stay again thats a shame as i thought they would keep standards up.

“horrid cold and dirty”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2010

we stayed at this dump once and never again, the place is dirty, cold and there is nothing for the children, the staff are not friendly AT ALL. its in the middle of knowhere. when driving to find it the road you go dow has more pot holes than enough, so the damage to your car costs more than it would to stay in a nice decent warm and clean hotel. i would not give it 1/10. i could go on forever but please dont spoil your holiday by staying a night at this tip.
