“SO GOOD I THOUGHT TWICE ABOUT TELLING YOU”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

My husband and I stayed for three nights at this superb Hotel. We arrived two days before New Year's Eve and there was a wedding going on. No problems, in fact, it added to our enjoyment seeing such happy people. The bar area is simply lovely, with a side annexe for those that want a quiet room.

The New Year's Party was amazing and my husband and I felt so at home with all the people there. Our New Year's Eve table was situated in the bar area where there was a lovely chap singing and playing a piano accordian. Such fun, all night and at 12 oclock everyone congregated in the Main Ballroom where we enjoyed seeing the New Year in, in style.

The room we had was amazing, not telling you which room because I suspect all the rooms are lovely. We did have a peep at a couple of others and they all seemed amazing. Spacious, clean and views to die for with a lovely boardwalk around the jetty and the back of the hotel.

The staff were young and courteous and worked throughout the holiday break. Must admit they must have been looking forward to their shift ending. I will point out that Laura on reception is amazingingly efficient and I am sure is really appreciated. However, I must say that all the staff are lovely, helpful and a credit to the hotel. Thank you all for giving us a wonderful New Year, a brilliant start to 2012. Pam & Den

“Christmas at The Salterns Hotel”

We stayed two nights at The Salterns Hotel over Christmas. Service was good, we only took Breakfast as we were visiting relatives. Room was clean and adequate. Our reason for using this Hotel is that they welcome Dogs which means we can enjoy lots of good walks on the Beach with our Border Terrier. We are regular customers.

Room Tip: We took a Twin room which was very large, much bigger than any of the competitors, also a triple on...

“Fantastic New Years Eve Venue”

Booked into the hotel for there New Years Party and had a fantastic time. Food was top class and service was very good. Stayed in a standard room for the night, which was bright, spacious and clean. Breakfast the next morning was superb as well, with a large selection of continental or cooked options. Will be using this again to see in 2013

“Nice hotel but not exceptional”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

I attended a dinner at this hotel on 14 December and ordered the vegetarian option as last year when I attended the same event the food was awful and the menu this year was the same. The starter was salmon which was fine as previously. I had a spinach cannelloni which was OK, nothing exceptional, the sauce was a bit watery but tasted reasonable. On the same plate there was a huge goats cheese and olive salad which was fine but I couldn't eat it all. The meat main course was brisket and last year I simply could not eat it because it was so tough - I suspect it had not been cooked enough. To be fair this year it did seem better and everyone said it was a huge improvement on the previous year. There were plenty of vegetables available and several roast potatoes on each plate with the meat. Pudding was pecan pie and that was very good. It is a lovely venue although the hotel looks a bit tired inside and probably could do with refurbishing. Overall the staff did a good job, nothing exceptional that stood out. I can't comment on the rooms as I didn't stay over. Car parking can be a bit limited because the hotel is part of a marina complex.
