We celebrated my sister's 40th with a celebratory lunch here with our husbands. Bar and restaurant are superbly decorated - very original and interesting, and the service was good. The food was sublime! All 4 of us were delighted with our choices, not a bad dish amongst the 12 (3 courses!) we had and some really interesting and inspired dishes. Really looking forward to my next visit and plan to stay overnight next time - if the hotel is anywhere near as good as its restaurant it will be fantastic!

We stayed at the Salthouse last Tuesday and thought everything about this hotel from the service , decor, location was really impressive , but special praise must go to the staff who were superb.

I was really impressed with this hotel - we had to stay a night in Ipswich for a wedding and just found it on the internet. Great decor - quite Malmaison-esque but a bit more original. Good location on the waterfront. Gorgeous tiled bathroom and comfortable bed. My one gripe was that our room was quite cold, and there was no way to control the room temperature.

We arrived late in the evening (about 1230am) but were checked in with no problem. I had a great cooked breakfast the next day - the dining room was quite busy, and it struck me that it's probably quite a popular spot for people having brunch. All in all, if you do find yourself in Ipswich (?), you might as well treat yourself...

Having stayed here every week for 5 months for a couple of days due to business in Ipswich I have been meaning to write a well deserved praise review for ages. Being away from home is stressful - the only small grizzle I would have is the TV remote in my usual room can be moody and sometimes decide not to work. You must ensure you get up in time in the morning to enjoy what I would classify as the very best breakfast in my 20+ years of using hotels. Most staff are charming, artwork and interior design is quirky and charming, sheets wonderful quality, high standard of housekeeping, help re parking and luggage, wonderful restaurant and direct waterfront access. Nice products in the bathroom, matching the good and clean design.
