Check in at reception was fast, efficient and friendly. We were directed to our two rooms by the receptionist and everything was clean and tidy.
There was an air conditioning unit in the room, as well as a thermostatically controlled radiator, so it was easy to select an ideal temperature (though I turned everything off).
The bed was comfortable enough and had pressed, clean linen though the pillows were on the hard side.
Facilities in the room were good - there was a good selection of tea, coffee etc and a kettle that worked. There was also a packet of nice chocolate chip cookies and a bottle of water supplied.
The bathroom was a bit disappointing, as there was only a shower with a shower curtain and if I wanted to be really picky, I'd say there was a bit of a whiff from it.
Taking a shower in such a small shower tray was a bit of challenge and I'm not a large build. The water appeared, but was difficult to control temperaure-wise and you had to move around a little to get wet - but it all worked.
Soaps were of the typical squeeze bottle type, Lux and perfumed which doesn't suit me, but then I brought my own stuff just in case. I don't like hotel shower gels in general.
Service at the bar was nice and pleasant, but heating downstairs was provided by two air conditioning units turned up full, but I shivered all night long whilst we were sat next to it. None of the radiators were turned on.
Staff were very pleasant and friendly. We didn't eat at the hotel as we preferred to do something independently on this occasion so I can't comment on the food other than to say what other people ordered looked lovely!
