attended wedding here,staff excellent food excellent very friendly staff would return and recomend

I was booked to stay here by my company so was not my choice, i arrived early hours of the morning to be met by a very cheerful chap on reception. I was checked in quickly and offered morning call, newspaper, drink from the bar. Breakfast times and dining room were pointed out to me. The reception was clean and next to the bar.
My room was in the new part of the building with all the usual things in the room. Tea coffee etc. The room was cold on entry but once i had found the heating remote control room was warm by the time the kettle had boiled. Bathroom clean with shower over bath, liquid soap over sink and shower, nice soft towels.
i had breakfast and sunday lunch and both were of a very good standard. I did think the veg portion was very small, then the waitress came over and said would you like some more,
The staff were all friendly and very helpful.

I have been staying at this hotel on business for about 12 months or so. I have always found all of the staff extremely friendly, welcoming, and very helpful. The hotel foyer, dining room, and rooms are always clean and tidy. The bedroom accomodation is a mixture of older (original) rooms and more recent rooms (Hotel rear extension). The breakfasts are good with a choice between continental and English breakfast (cooked fresh to order). There is a good range of evening meals of excellent quality (including bar meals) but I have experienced some delay in service when the hotel has been very busy. There is plenty of space for parking (including overspill parking to the rear of the hotel).

I booked a 'deluxe' room as I particularly wanted a bath but, although the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, the room was at best 'average' extremely gloomy and disappointing. The breakfast was also very poor, and I would advise anyone eating it to avoid their scrambled eggs!

This was only the second time I have booked into a Best Western and this experience was very different to my previous stay. However, I would be hesitant to try another if this hotel is typical of their standard. While the reception staff were good, and booking in and out was quick and efficient, it is the room which makes or breaks a stay in a hotel, and I'm afraid this didn't come up to my expectations.
