We only stayed one night opn a room only basis for £45. I though this was good value. Check in was quick and we were given a "superior" room. I think superior means a very "mini" mini bar. The room was a good size, however we did find it strange that the toilet was separate from the bathroom. The bathroom was very nicely finished, the toilet felt like a public toilet!
The bed was large and comfy, the flat screen tv had a lead to plug into your ipod. Mini bar had a couple of cans of coke (£2.50) bottle of water (£2.50) and two cans of lager (£3.50.) So average overpricing like most hotels!
The staff were friendly as we came and went from the hotel, there was a bar area which all looks very nice although we didn't use it. Slight bug bear - there is a smallish car park and you have to pay £6 a night parking. Overall, this was a good and reasonable stay for our night out in Ipswich (location is one minute from Cardinal Park - cinema and restaurants) and about 2 mins from the town centre.

The receptionist at check-in seemed a bit put-out by our arrival, which wasn't a great start. The staff were otherwise friendly and efficient during my stay.

I went for a superior room which was clean and nicely furnished. There's tea/coffee facilities, a safe, mini-bar, iron & ironing-board and a good shower. The bed however was very firm and uncomfortable - neither me nor my colleagues got a good nights sleep. I started to get used to the bed after the first night but it was still far from comfortable. There was also only two smallish cushions provided instead of proper pillows, which weren't really adequate.

Wired & wireless Internet access is available but is chargeable.

The breakfast was above average - a good continental selection and a good quality cooked breakfast too. Service was good and a free newspaper is provided. Makes a nice change to have a hotel breakfast worth getting up for!

Overall this is a nice hotel in a good location with great staff, but it was really let-down by the bed. I've stayed in several Novotels before, including this one, and have always had a comfortable bed so I'm not sure what's going on.

I will be forced to think twice before staying in this hotel again, despite its many good points.

Better than premier inn quality in a central location, car parking (charge), attractive bar and well equipped gym. Very good value for money. Thoroughly recommend for a weekend stay.

we had a meal with family and friends in the resturant on tues 24th jan i can honestly say it was disgusting,they are charging 12.95 for bought in fish to go with cold chips the plate was cold the fish was tasteless,the menu states homebattered fish i know for a fact it was bought frozen none of the other party were happy but because it was a special occasion i didnt say anything until everyone had gone,i asked to see the manager someone behind the bar spoke to me gave me a business card and told me to email the manager the next day.i felt sorry for the lady whos birthday it was they spent a lot of money on a load of rubbish
