“NOT SO BAD”

we have just returned from a 2 day break to this hotel. the reviews on here pretty much state that its not good at all but i dont agree. The check in was fine, the room was a 5 person room and we were just 2 so bigger than we needed. The room was cold when we first walked in and the heater was very small, but later it warmed up ok. the decor in the room was fine, the bed quite hard but ok, the duvet was i have to say quite poor but was clean. there was all clean linen, its just not good quality stuff.
the main complaints are the bathrooms and here i have to agree. its just they are very small and really in need of updating. the main reason is being too small, and i would remove the bath (which is very small by the way) and put in a shower cubicle, which would gain extra space for the bathroom.
its all clean enough though.
the breakfast was fine and the service prompt and very polite.
yes all Polish workers but so what, they are great and really work hard. Lucas the bar man was a really nice guy and works very hard.

we did not opt for evening meal as we like to strol the town for resteraunts, but the smell in the dinning room was nice and the menu looked really nice too.

the bar prices are fair for a hotel. good range of drinks too.

all in all it could be summed up like this. if its clean and warm and you can shower etc what is there to complain about. if i had paid £100.00 per night i would not be happy but we paid £80.00 for 2 nights b and b. what more can you ask.

to the people who complain at anything just think like this. get there unpack and enjoy.if you spend youre time going round the room with a magnifying glass looking for a hair or a tear its a bit sad.

thanks Ambassador we enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: get a sea view room but it doesnt really matter as the side rooms are nice too

“Great Value, Great Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

Arriving in the town very late at night, cold and tired I was looking for somewhere convenient and good value. The Ambassador looked inviting from the outside and was literally right in the town and on the sea front. I was given a warm welcome by the very efficient and informative manager on the desk. The selected room was a single for me, whilst compact it was spotless and well equipped. The bathroom was smart and clean. To my surprise in the daylight the room offered a stunning sea view (too dark to see the night before) the breakfast was nice and there was plenty of choice, the service at this hotel with all those I met was courteous and excellent throughout. The brief time I saw the bar in the evening there was low key, yet appropriate entertainment and the bar was busy. The hotel seemed fairly busy for a very off season time of the year. I will certainly be coming back with my wife and children. Thanks

Room Tip: Sea View stunning

“AMBASSADOR HOTEL, LLANDUDNO”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

WE recently had a weekend stay in Llandudno, IN the Ambassador Hotel in Llandudno, North Wales. IT It was our first visit to Llandudno and the Hotel was a family run Hotel. A large sea front building with excellent friendly service, good food, a great singer in the evening bar, lovely fresh cream scones with afternoon tea. A good all round perfect weekend. We walked off our superb english breakfast by walking up the Great Orme. An exciting toboggan ride and dry ski slope added to the fun. We shall definitely return after March when the chair lift and train ride up the Gt. Orme will be open. The Dinner in the Hotel is highly recommended. There is isn't one thing we can say that's bad. Just praise. Shops are within walking distance for those who want to browse. A really good winter break in inn a large warm cosy hotel with nice people and good food and service. Compliments to the owners and staff, absolutely spot on for young or old.

Room Tip: Have a sea view it's nice to wake up.

“weekend stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

Hi we stayed at the hotel Friday and Saturday night. Went on a discounted deal . ( so we might of got the cheap seats on the top floor)

The hotel is clean and staff are friendly . Breakfast was good service and you can choose what you would like to be fair was adequate and efficiently served.

Room was basic and a little out dated and a bit plain with no pictures on the wall but had tv and tea coffee facilities and at the end of the day it was clean and warm.

The bathroom was i need of an update there was lino on the floor which has seen better days, but again it was clean and we didnt run out of hot water so at the end of the day it did the job.

Nice bar area only disapointing thing was that if you wanted a drink later the bar had been closed . A little annoying but it was January but there again the hotel was full

little shabby out side in places. but in a good location

Dont think i would stay there again as i prefer a better standard ,but it did the job and was a cheap weekend. We had a good time !!

Hotel had a 3 star rating on the door i would say that was correct.

llandudno itself was very clean and well maintained enough bars shops and food places would return at some time.

all in all ok but its not The Ritz
