We arrived on the last minute just for a day out to watch the Victorian parade with my heavily pregnant daughter and husband. We had parked up and rushed to watch the parade when my daughter desperately needed the loo. We were going to have a drink as soon as the parade had passed so I suggested we went and asked if she could just use the loo at this hotel which was just behind us. A young chap working there said of course but then the landady/manageress shouted from the bar - you'll have to buy a drink first - I explained she just needed the loo and we would have a drink after the parade but she said no!!! So we had to rush a good distance to find public toilets on the end of the pier which had a huge queue - luckily kind people took pity and let my daughter go in front of them! In total contradiction to the rudeness of the Baytree we went into the St Georges Hotel on the sea front for lunch and it was wonderful - so clean and lovely polite helpful staff - will certainly return to the St Georges but avoid the Baytree it appeared to be a real dive.
