“Worst "hotel" EVER”

I was on trip advisor looking at the hotel I'm staying in for my holiday this year and I remembered my stay at the Jenivore hotel and decided to share my story. (I stayed there in March 2010 but I can only go as far back as August). On arrival at the Jenivore, we weren't greeted by anyone and had to wait around for a man who I assume to be the manager who was doing some sort of decorating somewhere. He showed us to our room and before we even arrived in our room the musty smell was really strong and worsened in the room. There were stains all over the walls and on the curtains and the room was freezing. Our room looked out onto a dirty yard which wasn't very pretty! We tried to stay out for as long as possible but it turns out there isn't very much to do in Llandudno so we spent the late evening in our room. It was so cold we had to stay fully clothed and keep our coats on, even to SLEEP! During the night at about 3am a group of loud women woke us up shouting and stomping up and down the stairs. It's safe to say that that was the worst night's sleep i've had in my life, I had better sleep in a tent in the rain in October! We woke up at 6.30am and checked out at 7am without staying for what I'm sure would be an awful breakfast.

Room Tip: Find a different hotel.

“AWFUL-WOULD RATHER SLEEP ON STREET”

I wouldn't book here again, if you are not happy nobody will try to rectify. Broken toilet seat swollen with urine, broken shower (shower head holder snapped off and water varying from the norm to scolding hot), radiator cover hanging off, shelves hanging off, holes in bathroom wall x2. Had to request that floor disinfected after toilet overflowed (we have a three yr old). Light bulb fittings resting on top of wardrobe (no light bulb fitted, my wife was told it was too dangerous to fit a bulb as resting on wardrobe- 2 choices then darkness or dangerous). Was told that all of this damage was done by previous occupant, this is not true as previous reviews list same problems Was told that all of this damage was done by previous occupant, this is not true as previous reviews list same problems. I would rather sleep in my car than here again. Did not stay for breakfast as not confident with hygiene standards after toilet fiasco. Unable to contact manager as he has bottled it. We have photos to prove the state of this room. Come on Mr manager, you have my tel number and my wifes' ( give her a call if it makes you feel more comfortable). I WOULD THINK TWICE BEFORE BOOKING THIS PLACE. I will not go away until I get money back for a room that was not fit for purpose! Have contacted office of fair trading under the supply of goods act 1982.

Room Tip: DON'T bother

“Nice, friendly service. Excellent food.”

Stayed with a group of friends. Provided evening meals, although they don't normally do that for us. Staff very friendly and service excellent. Food very good, including great English breakfast every day - eggs cooked to perfection (I travel a lot, and it's not very often that happens!). Linen on tables very clean and changed every meal.

I think that they are in the process of upgrading so the rooms were in various stages of refurbishment. But, good clean white bed linen and towels, coffee/tea making also provided.

Location very handy for the town, quiet area, parking available on the street. When busy you have to look around for a space but you will find somewhere.

We paid a very competitive rate and for that rate we can have no grumbles whatsoever. Excellent value.

“Friendly service, clean rooms, super breakfast ....great value!!”

Stayed here with a party over a busy long weekend and we were treated to excellent service. The hotel doesn't normally provide evening meals but they were willing to provide us with that service over our 5 night stay. We found that nothing was too much trouble for them...all the food was of a very high standard and well presented, lots of it too! Breakfast was particularily good and we would give that a 5* rating. Superb!
We gather that the Hotel is gradually being updated, some of the rooms reflected this but we had no problems with cleanliness...lovely white sheets and towels...and a very good modern shower. All the other finishing touches too ( tea, coffee tray, bottled water, shampoos, gels etc) We think this Hotel is excellent value and in a lovely quiet location not far from both the town and the seafront.

Room Tip: Phone ahead and ask...they are very helpful!

“Not good value for money.”

The room was superficially clean but there was dust on lots of the surfaces. I wondered if it also filled its rooms with local homeless people as a very drunk man tried to follow us in and claimed to be a friend of the manager it was quite treatening. Lovely location good parking outside.
