Needing a comfortable but reasonably priced hotel for a one night stop in Llandudno I searched a booking engine and found a good price for a single room at the Manor. Being in the hospitality industry myself I tend to be (without realising it) a little hypercritical.
I arrived quite late and was greeted very warmly on arrival and given all the information I needed to find my room, get breakfast etc. I was given directions to the local Indian restaurant I wanted. The room was extremely clean and well appointed; large towels, tea, coffee etc, and plenty of it. The bathroom was also spotless, which impressed me greatly.
After a long day, meal, and late visit to the cinema I was pleasantly surprised to find plenty of free parking available right outside the hotel, with my car being visible from the bedroom window. The code for the front door is also clearly printed on the key (which sensibly doesn't identify the hotel) and I had no difficulty getting back in when I returned from my night out. There was also still plenty of lighting to enable me to find my room.
A comfy bed was more than welcome at the end of a long day and I had a really good night's sleep, something you often don't get in hotels, with cheap mattresses, pillows and quilts, none of which were evident in this case.
The only downside was there appeared to have been a power trip during the night and the electric shower wasn't working. Not a huge issue, more a little inconvenience and when I reported this fault it was immediately fixed.
Breakfast was plentiful, freshly cooked and hot (including the toast), and there was a good choice of cereals and fresh fruit as well. At no time did I feel rushed, rather I was encouraged to enjoy a leisurely and filling breakfast, finishing my coffee whilst reading my paper.
I shall certainly recommend this to friends, and next time I need to stay in Llandudno I know where I'll be heading!
