“A great and friendly place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2010

I stayed with my lady friend at the St Omer in Eastbourne and we
had a wonderful surprise the bedrooms and area was clean as the
lady who I went with can be very fussy. The gentleman who owns the
hotel puts himself out to make sure it does not matter wether you
got children with you or not you all get looked after in the same manner.
The breakfast is one of the b iggest I have had for a long time its up to
you what want as when I am holiday its when I change my habits.
We have booked to go back next year with friends we met there as
it is becoming a popular place to stay.
My lady friend and Iwould like to say thanks Dave and staff for
making our week great.

“Dreadful - Dirty, Argumentative Owner, Glad to Move Out”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 July 2010

This was a very sad experience. Rooms were dirty with cigarette subs on walk out balconies..Owner Argumentative and Loud...Bathrooms were filthy - had paid for 1 weeks, but booked into a superior Hotel for our 2nd week ..at the same price.

I had stayed at this Hotel before and had encountered a few problems, but undestand the Owner would improve the situation...but this year the situation became much worse.

“Fit for purpose”

Recently I spent a few nights at the St Omer B&B in Eastborne. After reading previous reviews was unsure what to expect. After experiencing this B&B, I would recommend it to a friend. If I had to give it a grade I would feel that it was of a 3star standard. The house is a town house, with four or five flights of stairs(rooms on each floor). There were older guests with walking difficulties(not sure where they stayed but they didn't seem to have any complaints). The room itself was adequate. My room had ensuite facilities. Cleaning was average. Bed was comfortable. Atmosphere in the guest house was pleasant. The landlord was very friendly and patient but not intrusive. He was also very helpful in giving needed directions to where I wanted to go. Staff were friendly too. Personally I find that if you treat people with respect and courtesy, you tend to get it reciprocated. Politeness goes a long way! Breakfast was okay (the usual B&B fare). As long as they knew ahead of time,( a change in what you wanted) they were happy to oblige. I believe that you can go half-board, but I don't recall seeing any ecvening meals being served while I was there. There were returning guests, so that in itself is a recommendation. Parking was on the street outside. You have to pay (a nominal fee) for a permit each day from the landlord. Location was very good. Across the road from the beach, and a couple of minutes from the pier. Plenty of restaurants nearby (in fact a good restaurant next door). Close to the town centre ( 10 mins walk). In short, if you want luxury, this is not the place for you, but if you want a base at a reasonable price and standard, you won't go far wrong.

“Clean & Friendly”

This is the best B&B wev'e stayed at , Clean, Friendly and Relaxing. A good full english breakfast and good service. Almost a stones throw from the sea., a short walk to the pier and shops. Bus stops almost outside for Beechy Head and Brighton one way and Bexhill and Hastings the other. The rooms are clean and tidy, we loved it and will continue to go.
