“Very good, reasonably priced hotel in good location with free parking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2010

We really enjoyed our stay at Brayscroft House Hotel.room was beautifully furnished and the ensuite well presented .A good variety of beverages in the room and bottled water.

Breakfast cooked by one of the proprietors John Amura was excellent, there was also a good array of fresh seasonal fruits offered as well as the traditional English breakfast with all the trimmings.

Mr and Mrs Amura were very welcoming and helpful.

WE WILL DEFINITELY RETURN AGAIN.

“A wonderful stay in a beautiful area.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2010

A truly lovely bed and breakfast establishment within easy walking distance of the town and about 100 yards from the prom. (Plus it was outside of the parking charges area.) The house itself was very clean and welcoming and Yvonne made us feel at home immediately. Free internet access was much appreciated too. Breakfast included cereals, fresh fruit and a full cooked breakfast followed by toast and jams etc which kept us going til about 4pm! Rooms were lovely, spacious and clean with plenty of hangers in the wardrobe! The hot water seemed a bit temperamental at times but was being fixed the day we left.
We would definitely stay again and thoroughly recommend the Brayscroft to the discerning traveller who wants a more homely stay than a faceless hotel.

“Perfectly lovely!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2009

Perfectly located close to the seafront, at the favoured west end of Eastbourne, the Brayscroft Hotel offers a welcoming and comfortable retreat from the hurly burly of everyday life. The friendly resident owners, Yvonne and John, really do go out of their way to ensure your stay is perfect.
The elegantly decorated rooms with their beautiful furniture, lovely paintings and wonderfully comfy beds give this small hotel a touch of luxury and after a good nights sleep another treat awaits in the dining room......a superb breakfast expertly cooked by John. The choice of menu is excellent offering everything from a range of traditional cereals, bowls of scrumptious seasonal fresh fruits, dried fruits and yoghurt. This is followed by a full English cooked breakfast - a real 'feast' that could set you up for the rest of the day and be perfect for anyone off on a good walk up to the nearby South Downs! If you're appetite is for something lighter you can always enjoy the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs and there is plenty of orange juice, tea, coffee and toast. I don't eat meat but never once found my cooked breakfast 'wanting' in any way! We had a couple of evening meals as well which were equally delicious and if you fancy an 'out of season' stay that option is available all year .
The Brayscroft is within walking distance of the nearby theatres and restaurants and is about a 15 minute walk from the town centre.
We had a lovely stay and from the moment we arrived felt very much 'at home'. Yvonne and John really do go that 'extra mile' for their guests and it is that quality combined with the hotel's charm and excellent facilities that makes me certain we will be staying again!

“Best B&B in Eastbourne!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2009

Well, I haven't stayed in them all but I cannot imagine anywhere better. Spent 2 nights in August and wish it could have been longer. Although a single traveller I was given a beautiful twin bedded room, spotlessly clean with a delightful bathroom and very comfortable bed. In a quiet part of town so no problem getting a good night's rest , but close to all attractions.
Yvonne was welcoming and helpful without being intrusive and, as already said here, the breakfast was outstanding, full English or smoked salmon and scrambled egg, fabulous.
Can't speak highly enough of the Brayscroft and its owners for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

“A warm welcome and a very comfortable stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2009

We really enjoyed our stay at Brayscroft House. The owners were welcoming and the room very comfortable, clean and well furnished. Just off the main promenade at the Beachy Head end, it was convenient for walking from the hotel and also not too far to walk into the shops or along to the pier.

Parking proved relatively easy too since the hotel is just outside the restricted parking area.

Breakfast was excellent, although we had to leave very early on the second day. However a good selection of fruit and cereals were left out for us, and in fact the proprietor would have got up and cooked for us if we had wanted her too.

A good experience overall
