I stayed at the Devonshire Park on a visit to the Winter Gardens, just over the road. It was a good choice & one I would do again if revisiting.
The hotel is traditional type - lots of corridors & odd shaped layout. But it really was excellent. Well maintained, modern but keeping its character and very good service from the front desk.
The room I had was very good size (think I got an upgrade) and great value. Only comment I could give was that the TV picture on the large LCD TV looked to be analgue & the DAB radio in the room only picked up FM. Seemed a missed opportunity having put so much investment into the rooms, but maybe gearing up for Digital Switchover in 2012.
Breakfast was also good quality. Its cooked to order, so takes a while to come if in a hurry. If you order a newspaper its also delivered to your breakfast table, which I thought was a really good touch. Something to read whilst waiting.
Seaside hotels can often be a little hit & miss. This one was excellent & stands out. A great choice.
