Stayed for the second time (a year apart) just one night. Superb accommodation for a B&B, very comfortable bed, large room with beautiful sea view. Very clean and well presented, privately owned and well maintained by lovely couple. Excellent, friendly service. Good breakfast. Centrally located - much better than most old fashioned Eastbourne hotels/B&Bs. Would definitely return.

Me and my partner stopped here as a night away to relax and couldn't of chose a better hotel, not only was janine the owner very kind, welcoming and helpful she was not your usual host. Very trusting and polite was my first impression! The hotel was kept immaculately clean and the rooms were more than adequate. We stayed in room 8 and had a lovely sea view, a comfy bed and well chosen linen. The breakfast was good with more than enough on offer, I was just thinking that I would of loved to off met Tony, janine's partner but maybe on our next trip.... Many thanks again,

I chose to stay here based on the very good reviews that had been written on TripAdvisor and was not disappointed. The owners are absolutely charming and gave me a warm welcome on arrival. They were not too busy, it being low season, but I suspect the same warmth would be there even when the hotel is full in the summer months.
my room was huge, spotlessly kept and the bathroom more than adequate with its over-bath shower and large washbasin.
They offer a good-quality breakfast with a cold selection - help yourself. The cooked menu is not extensive but it IS freshly prepared and mine was always beautifully cooked. They offer fruit juice and Earl Grey tea is also an option - I didn't expect that in a small B&B!
I also didn't expect home-made marmalade to be available - there's a pot on every table - in addition to the normal mass-produced variety.

Tony & Janine have made the '17' the standard against which I shall measure all future B&B establishments.

A lovely warm welcome from Tony and Janine. Thanks guys for the very welcome cup of tea on arrival - just what we needed. Our room (No. 5) was beautifully decorated and clean with a superb view of the gardens and seafront and just about the biggest hotel room we have ever stayed in with a lovely seating area and wonderful high ceilings. Woke up to blue skies and sunshine streaming in through windows - what a joy considering it was a January weekend. The bed was very comfortable and the tea and coffee tray was well stocked with goodies and choice. Lying snuggled in bed with our early morning cuppa - we didn´t want to get up and felt thoroughly spoiled. The ensuite had everything we needed and was imaculately clean. Number 17 has a fantastic position right on the seafront, close to the theatre and town and was handy for a stroll out for our evening meal. Breakfast was top notch, plenty of choice and very tasty, I should have gone for the healthy option on offer but the full english was just too much of a temptation! Enjoyed every minute of our stay, helpful and friendly owners, nothing was too much trouble - a real treat. We will definitely be back.
