It is realy one of the best b&bs we have ever been in England. All the former reports are true and there is nothing to be added except that it is a special place to be with very welcoming hosts.

Having stayed at The Manse several times visiting my mother in Eastbourne, I feel it's time to write about this beautiful spot.
I have stayed in many B&Bs around the country and feel that The Manse is one of the best. Not only are Ann and John charming and accommodating in every way, but the accommodation is incredible. I have stayed in every one of the three rooms and they are huge by English standards with incredibly comfortable beds and beautiful quilts. The attention to detail is obvious everywhere in the house as every spot is lovingly tended -- from the starchly pressed white linens in the dining room to the beautiful garden to the ornaments perfectly lined up in every room.
The breakfast menu is wonderful with several options, ranging from vegetarian English breakfast to kippers and eggs to smoked salmon (which I always choose as it is delicious). And Ernie the cat is a gorgeous black shaggy creature who will be happy to greet you.
There is simply nothing about The Manse that I would change.

Wonderful building, location, decoration, room, service, breakfast. Decoration style is Arts & Crafts and is obviously important to the owners, it is carried out with a passion and a very high standard.
Having just stayed at a B&B in Ely, The Nyton, which was disappointing, The Manse is a B&B that all others should/must aspire to. BRILLIANT.

Everything about our 3 nights at The Manse was superb,from the enormous and delightful 4 poster bedroom and the immaculate spacious bathroom complete with bathrobes and slippers to the huge and delicious breakfast and the lovely couple who run it for whom nothing was too much effort.We will definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anybody.
