Location Location - they say. well this hotel is smack bang in the middlle of ONS conference but frankly even with all the plus points of location/food etc - its just too far out of Stavanger to be useful in the 'Busy period" - as just everybody leaves at the same time. The hotel suffers from a lack of lifts - only 2 and these are used with food/bedding trolleys as well - so waits for lifts became very tiresome. The breakfast buffet was good but the lunch buffet was pretty poor. The room on 15th floor - had a great view - but the curtains were very light and let light in. the bathroom felt about 20 years old - tired, when i called up and asked if hotel had wifi - they said yes - only to find out it was only available in the restaurants and reception......

Great building with fantastic view from the higher floors overlooking Stavanger and the sea.
Location as described in other reviews, a bit outside, but parking is easy and not too bad with approx 70 NOK over night.

Rooms a bit small but the view is worth it. Bathroom is fine.

The restaurant on 21 floor is superb for the view, breakfast very nice.

I stayed here for 2 weeks. Hotel is approx 4km's from downtown. The taxi service is quite expensive for that distance. Had a bunch of bad experiences with Norgestaxi so do not go with that company. Rica Forum did not have air conditioning. My room was pretty hot during the summer. Breakfast was good and the free internet in the room was very fast. Hotel accommodated all my requests. Beautiful lake across the road with a nice running path. Also, a mall was a short walk away. Downtown was about a 30min walk.

I'm always staying on this hotel when I'm in Stavanger, and I like it very much. A great view, and very relaxed. However, If you're looking for shopping and a central location, this is not the place to be. If you're on the other hand on a business trip on your own and like to relax infront of the tv with a pizza and a beer, and don't wanna be bothered, you gotta love it :) The breakfast is also very good. Should have a pool or spa though...
