I stayed there for two nights, the first impression was very bad, the girl at the reception slow and not kind at all...the hotel in its self is a bit old, the room was by the way clean and big, during the night there were people outside screaming and making a lot of noise...the day after was ok. The breakfast is good and served at the restaurant bocca.
I think is a very good place for a party time because you can receive your friends there before going out and all the clubs are just around the hotel.

Very disappointing...While the location is good and close walking distance to the city and transport, the room wasn't so good. we had read reviews prior to coming to the hotel and there were a few negative ones, we shouldn't have given this place the benefit of the bought and taken the negative reviews on board. We stayed in the "Deluxe Double", it is advertised as a double and in this day and age thought we had passed the days of two single beds being put together to make up a double, with single sheets and duvet covers. When I questioned this and asked if there were any other rooms with a Double bed I was told that all doubles were like that. To me this is false advertising as it is not a double bed that they are selling..I was also told that the room does have a double sofa bed, which we ended up using with our single sheets and duvet. The apartment style "Deluxe Room" had a lot of space in the living area but the room itself was small..so almost better that we stayed in the living area. there was a closet in the room which was full of old junk(a microwave, and various other pieces of useless stuff), and was full of dust and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months, and the rest of the room could do with a better clean as well. So if your looking for a double room here I would think twice. And as with other reviews there was quite a lot of noise coming from down stairs.

We booked in May for August, no problem booking.
When we arrived we were told "sorry we're booked out"! Despite having a printed confirmation! Grrr.

"Oh, we can offer you the Penthouse suite if you would like it?". With an offer like that why not?
Well, we soon found out why it was empty! Up the lift which holds 4 people! Walk out on the roof, along the balcony to a roof yard which was filthy. Broken bottles, empty cans, papers etc.

40+ yr old addition made out of sheeting stuck on the roof. Old furniture, blinds that didn't do anything at all to block the sunlight, (remember this was in high Summer, 18 hours of Sun) so not much sleep gained. Noisy too with Disco and pub adjoining. Maybe rooms below are better?

Totally disgusted.

The only positive was the breakfast downstairs, a good selection and well presented.

This Hotel is in a perfect location in downtown Bergen. Everything is within a 10 minute walking distance. It is clean and the staff is competent and friendly. However, there is a Disco right next door, and a bar in the Hotel on the second floor. There is a constant whomp, whomp, whomp, whomp, until 2:00 AM. Since there is no air conditioning, during summer the windows must stay open at night. This was another problem because the street outside is very active and noisy, like Times Square in New York, until 3:00 AM. Between the Disco next door, the bar on the second floor, and the street noise all night, we got very little sleep. This is a shame because otherwise the hotel was absolutely perfect.
