We (parents and two grown-up children, 19 and 21) stayed for two days in Amalie's guesthouse in a two bedroom flat in the basement. The location of the flat is really, really nice, close to the centre and to Fløibanen (the funicular up to the Fløi mountain) and in a neighbourhood with old white wooden houses. The flat has ample daylight despite of it being in the basement. The bedrooms are quite okay, and the beds also. The kitchen/sitting room we found to be a bit small for staying in :There was no choice but to sit at the dining table for the three of us, as there was only one armchair in a corner. There is WiFi access in the flat, which some of us appreciated! The supply of kitchenware was somewhat lacking compared to what we found elsewhere in Norway - for example, there were only three large plates (and also three small plates), no serving spoons (or rather only one, which was much too large) and no coffee maker. The flat was also not spotlessly clean. But then again, Marielle did not know when we would arrive, and the ones before us left quite late, so she did not have much time for cleaning in between. These points aside, Marielle was really kind and took time to give us a map and direct us to a really nice and comparatively cheap place to eat: USF Verftet, at Nordnes. Also, she told us where we could park the car for free.
