“The worst hotel I have ever stayed in”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

people found this review helpful

This hotel has an excellent location, the rooms are spartan and a bit run-down, however all to be expected being a "reasonably priced" hotel. This is not what makes this the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The football pup in the basement played loud music until 3 o'clock in the morning keeping me awake, having a flight early next morning, this was a huge cause of annoyance. If you are going to stay at P-Hotels Bergen (and you shouldn't) do not rent a room on the second floor, and keep clear of Saturdays.

Room Tip: Stay off the second floor, and do not stay at Saturdays.

“Run down, but cheap and a nice location”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

This hotel is very run down. The sound isolation is really bad and I woke-up from the sound of people walking on the floor above.

The hotel doesn't have continental breakfast, but provides you with a bag containing a sandwich, a juice and a fruit. This is quite okay if you don't have the time to eat regular continental breakfast. The sandwich is quite dry, but I guess you get what you pay for. The room seemed clean. The location is very good right in the heart of Bergen.

The night receptionist seemed kind of angry and didn't seem very interested in letting us in late at night/early morning. Otherwise the staff seemed very nice and helpful.

Remember to ask for a different sandwich if you would like something other than ham and cheese.

Room Tip: I would guess that rooms on the 4th floor are quieter than the rest of the floors

“Good location but noisy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2011

The hotel has a good location, in the area of pubs, next to the shops and less than 10 minute walking to Bryggen.

The rooms are simple, nothing special (like most of the rooms I stayed in Normay) and spacious. Has a big flatscreen. The rooms are noisy, you can hear what is happening outside in the street and whatt is happening upstairs, is it possible to feel when people are walking in the other rooms.

The breakfast is served in a bag that they put ouside the rooms in the morning and consists in a sandwich, juice and fruit.

At the lobby there is a coffee machine where you can drink at any time for free.

“Old hotel with noise problem”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011
1
person found this review helpful

I didn't expect to get the best hotel room in town but I still had to pay quite a lot of money for this kind of hotel. Maybe it's typical Norway hotel especially tourist city like Bergen.

What can I say? the property is old so you will hear noise from rooms above and next to yours. The room looked tired and needs renovation. The sound insulation is not good so you will hear noise from outside as well and as the other reviewers mentioned, the hotel is located close to night life places.

Don't make this hotel your first choice when you are in Bergen. There must be nicer hotel with good price in the city.

“hotel with most noise-problems ever visited”

I can only suggest that stay away from this hotel. The noise from the bar (close to the hotel) makes sleeping impossible (untill 2AM) - and not only during the weekend!!
