Superior breakfast and attentive staff are the outstanding features of this hotel which serves mostly business travelers. My wife and I were right at home. Our room was upgraded for our first stay due to availability. I recommend the hotel for anyone on business or for a short stay in Bergen for a jumping off point on a vacation. I would stay there again.

Nice and peaceful place to stay in. Right in the middle of Bergen, Norway with easy access to business and tourist places.

This lovely hotel is located just off the main thoroughfare so it is quiet, yet just a one block walk down to Bryggen and the waterfront. The Customer Service was excellent.

I stayed in a Superior Room because all of the Standard Rooms were booked. The Room was well appointed with a wardrobe, desk, couch, chairs and table, two twin beds with nightstands, and phones next to the bed, on the desk and in the bathroom. It was private yet had a nice view east toward the mountain and the Floibanen. The free wireless internet worked perfectly, the heated bathroom floor was a nice treat, the bed was very comfortable.

There was a very nice breakfast with a lot of choice every morning from 6:30 to 9:30 and a restaurant and bar for dinner or drinks. Coffee and tea were available 24/7.

If I had to come up with a negative about the First Hotel Marin it would have to be that all the hallways were very cold (almost like outside). I have to guess that is to save the extra cost of heating non-living areas.
