This standard hotel is well priced compared to others nearby, and servicable rooms. Located outermost on the point of the Bergen wharf nearest the Viking Hall and former Royal tower, it has lovely views - and poor TVs. It is along a small park-way with historical buildings remaining and rebuilt after WW II. Along the north side of the Bergen brygge, one can walk in 2 minutes to the UNESCO preserved market buildings, with traditional and new shops. 10 minutes to the funicular (tram to Bergen's viewing point), and 15 minutes' walk to most downtown shopping, wine store and acquarium. Breakfast buffet is good. Pre-order cabs to this location if going out early morning.

I would like to start with the positives, it's a fantastic location very close to the Bergen World Heritage site. My room was quite spacious and the breakfast was excellent with a good spread. The dining room was large to seat sufficient guests. The receptionists were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. For a meal, try to find a place elsewhere. A few vending machines can fetch you something to drink. It is too pricey for a budget hotel. Don't expect too many international TV channels, except a few like BBC. It's mostly Norwegian.

If you are booking for one person, you may find this OK. If you are a business traveler, you will not like it. A couple will step on each others toes. Even the 'nicer' rooms on the upper floors were tiny. Breakfast buffet was great! The best value is location, location, location. The SAS airport bus stop is right next door in front of the Radisson Blue, this was very convenient.

There were 3 in my party; one got what they felt was a huge room, another a noisy one and me; a clean, quite, comfortable but basic room. All three rooms were on the 3rd floor and were in close proximity to each other.

My bed was comfortable and having a very bad back during this visit to Norway managed an uninterrupted night’s sleep. The shower was excellent and there was a heated floor in the bathroom.

The breakfast was plentiful, varied and I had no complaints. Work paid for the room and it was one of the cheapest we could find in the location of this hotel. I must say that it was still very expensive compared to the ones I have previously reviewed and though I would stay there again, I do hope that a much more acceptable tariff could be negotiated. But, Norway is an expensive location (paid £12 for a standard pint of beer whilst in Norway!) so maybe that is just the going rate!
