This hotel is basically just a conference hotel. In that aspect it is great. The best view in Oslo, quiet and in the mids of our great nature.
As a general hotel it should be avoided. It is to far from anything and a taxi-ride from/to downtown Oslo would cost approx 45 Euroes.
99% of all guest would be conference-guests and is clearly ( and understandable) the staffs first priority. As a sole traveller/couple you would find yourselves a bit alone.

The hotel is on top of Hollmenkollen, Oslo centre is 30 mins by car. It's large, and basically a conference hotel. As a tourist, especially in the summer, it has a cold, uncomfortable feel. Many rooms face a grass slope going up right outside the window (2m) view, or another building a couple of meters away.
Breakfast was good. All in all it's reasonable value if your expectations are not that high.

This hotel is in a hilly location on the periphery of Oslo city. It is in a quiet area and has access to the city by public transport, though a car is advisable. The exterior of the hotel and the grounds look dated but the interior is generally fine and comfortable. Although the staff were professional, they were not particularly friendly.

The hotel occupancy appeared to be very low.

We had two interconnecting bedrooms which were comfortable and well equipped but were a bit too compact for multiple occupancy. The swimming pool was quite nice.

A few small irritations colour our experience. The noise of the lift motor could be heard from the bedroom / The restaurant staff weren't very familiar with the menu / There were errors in the bill whilst checking out / The hotel grounds need attention.

These irritations aside, our stay was comfortable and of reasonable value and we enjoyed the breakfasts, pool, tennis court and free WiFi.

I stayed 3 nights with my wife from 5th-8th Feb and we had a great stay.It is a bit of a trek initially to find,recommend a taxi on arrival especially if you have luggage.Once you figure out the routes of the T-bane (Train) and busses its easily got to.Close to Tryvann ski area and Holmenkollen ski jump.Also close to Frognersteren for Tobogganning.I reccommend this!!.All around pretty good hotel for the money.
