This is not your typical moderm hotel. It has a lot of charm and all of the makings of an older European hotel. But, it has allof the ammenities of a modern hotel - a perfect combination of old world elegance and new technology!

From check-in through check-out, the staff was delightful and very accomodating. They all seemed to speak English, so I had no problem in communicating with them.

The room I had was quite nice. Rather large for a European hotel room, with a huge window that opened out onto the street below. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in, and although the bathroom was somewhat small, it worked fine for me.

The free wireless internet was great, and very fast - I was able to stream a few movies while I was there (since most of the TV is in Norwegian).

The breakfast is superb and plentiful with a lot of variety. Eggs, bread-goods, frech fruit, cheeses, smoked fish & herring, etc.

I would definitely stay here again if I returned to Oslo!

Steps away from the bus stop, we also appreciated the on-site restaurant and the outdoor seating. Room was nice sized and the staff were helpful with tour suggestions. The neighbor was quiet and it was enjoyable to walk in the evenings.

Stayed here twice during last year. Rooms need refurbishment, bathrooms are ok. Clean hotel. Breakfast ok. Location 10 min Walker outside city. Buss stop close by. Good hotel if you just Want to skrek in that part of the city.

Wonderful location in a leafy residential neighborhood, easy 10 min bus ride from station. Pleasant walk to tourist center and only minutes from Frogner Park. My wife and I had picnic meals in the park almost every day in Oslo. We'd been hoping to visit Oslo for years and spending time every day in the park amidst the Vigeland statues was a travel dream come true.
The staff was friendly and helpful, helped us with internet connections and bus routes. Breakfast was a delicious and varied buffet in a pleasant timbered restaurant.
We had a nice small room on an interior courtyard. The only thing we could have wished for was AC or a fan, but that's Norway. We hope to visit Oslo again and will definitely return to Rica Bygdoy Alle.
