I thought this hotel was just the job. Wonderfully clean, comfortable and a great breakfast. Fantastic location being within a stones throw of the centre of town. There was just one slightly strange thing in that the frosting on the glass door to the onsuite bathroom appeared to have been put on the wrong side because it meant you could see in but not out! But all in all, I loved it and would recommend to everyone.

Stayed at the Thon Terminus with friends at the beginning of December to see the final A-ha gigs. The hotel is diagonal to the Spectrum Theatre and only a block away from the Central Station - both trains, buses/coaches and the metro (T-banen). It is a short easy walking distance from the centre, and is also opposite to Oslo City a shopping centre.

We had been upgraded to a business room which was wonderful and spacious, although as there was 3 of us there did only tend to be only 2 of certain things like cups, dressing gowns and slippers - not at all important to us. We did worry that there would be excessive noise as our room was next to the lift shaft and also the dining room, but we were really surpised that we were not troubled at all. The walls are amazingly thick!
Breakfast was the usual Scandinavian buffet (breads, hot and cold meats, eggs, yoghurt, cheeses, juices, hot drinks etc) which was lovely and very filling. Mid week stays include a 'light meal' which was buffet style soup or stew and was mediocre but welcome given living costs in Oslo.

Reception were very helpful and spoken excellent English (thank goodness, I couldn't find the Norwegian for 'our toilet seat is broken' which incidentally was mended the same day).
I would heartily recommend this hotel.

My husband and I did stay in this hotel because some friend have been here before and did recommend it to us. The hotel has a great location, near to everything like: Central Station, Karl Johan (the main street in Oslo), Akerselva where it is nice to go for a walk and there is alot of Shopping Malls near by. The nearest just across the street. You also have Spectrum just across the street where they give a lot of concerts.

This was my first trip to Oslo and I was disappointed by the Thon Hotel Terminus. Oslo is incredibly expensive - by any standard - and although this was expected, the hotel was pretty shoddy for what I paid as compared to what I saw of other hotels (a friend stayed elsewhere). Oslo is small and easy to get around on foot in the summer - the Terminus is right around the corner from the train station and the head of Karl Johans Gate, making it convenient to central Oslo. The seedier part of town is also right around the corner as well, but in all I felt very safe walking around. What made my stay somewhat less enjoyable was my room at the Terminus - many of the ceiling panels were ripped and broken and the furniture was quite worn. The bed itself was a double and not two twins pushed together, which I appreciated, but it was quite saggy and made for a relatively uncomfortable sleep. The bathroom was large and had a heated floor - a nice feature - but the hot water did not last very long!

The breakfast spread was nice, but depending upon the time you got there, many options could be out and their replenishment was very slow. The staff seemed nice, but they were very difficult to track down at times, unless you were at the front desk/reception area. For the price one pays in Oslo for anything, having an inclusive breakfast and central location is great, but I do not believe I would stay at the Thon Hotel Terminus again.
