If you want to be close to nightlife, cafés, bus, train, and most attractions, then Thon Spectrum is worth considering. Rooms are newly renovated but a bit small. There is no real ventilation (and no A/C) which is annoying in June-August. Wireless works perfectly and is free. Reception did a perfect job.

Breakfast was odd. Backpackers stocking up on food without the waiters caring, meatballs and sausages were mixed - a far shot from the normal Thon standard, and the area was crowded. Cleaning is OK but an industrial vacuum-cleaner was left in the middle of the hallway, and carpets in the hallways are in need of a change.

This hotel should be rated between 2 and 3 circles when compared to the standard in Oslo, but if you stay during winter, get a decent price, and believe management will return from vacation - then I would say 3.

newly renovated. clean, practical. Lies just close to the central station, very convenient. A little unpersonal though.

--No explanation of location, what to do in area, etc. When asked for a map she gave one. Then had to ask where we were on the map. Then had to ask her if she could mark it on the map.
--Beds are TERRIBLE. Very very soft--no support AT ALL. No bedboards available. Even sofa bed povided no support. Had to place mattress on the floor and sleep on that.
