“great location, small rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

Stayed here on 2 separate occasions. First time - room was small, but adequate and - as requested - quiet. Bathroom was also small but clean. Nowhere to put your toiletries bag except on the floor. Second time I was given a very small single room, despite having booked a queen. When I queried this, my room was changed to a queen, but no apologies or explanation - or offer of a reduced rate in the single.

On both occasions, the bed was a bit soft for my taste and the rooms over-heated. The 'free toiletries' were 2 dispensers, one over the basin, the other over the bath. On the other hand, the free wifi is great! Breakfast is very good, and being 100 metres from the Flybussen stop to/from the airport is a real bonus when you have bags to drag through the snow and ice.

Room Tip: Rooms high up or at the back are quieter. The trams run in front of the hotel and send a rumble thr...

“Everything quite OK, but not special.”

Quite OK, but not special. We enjoyed the breakfast and liked the location. Agree with Familyon2r.

“No reason to complain - no reason to praise!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 December 2011

An average experience at an average hotel: Nothing more, nothing less. No reason to complain about the service at the reception or in breakfast room but neither anything to praise. The centrally location combined with the price and OK standard, is the hotels biggest advantage.

The room was small with a double bed, chair and a desk and not much more space. Separate toilet and shower room. The room is not stylish or cosy but absolutely not run downed.

I live centrally in Stockholm and is used to the noise of the city. If you are not, you can find the noise from the tram and a couple of bars disturbing. I had no problem of sleeping.

Cleanliness: Generally clean, but I found hair a couple of places in bathroom.

Would I stay here again: Yes, for a night or two if I am not planning to stay at room more than for sleeping.

“City centre medium range hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

Stefan is quite a centrally located hotel. Went to Oslo on a business tour in May 2011, and stayed there for almost a week time. This hotel is close to shopping/pedestrian street of Oslo 'Karl Johan', takes you to the Central Station Oslo, to Royal Palace to Norwegian Parliament...nice walk!. The rooms are good however, I was not too pleased with the service as my coffee cups were not replaced everyday , same with towels though I left laundry tag on it. Somehow my internet also did not work however one of the guy at reception was very helpful and took extra efforts to contact some IT expert and got it started. Breakfast was okay however, I really enjoyed the place as I had work in the building exactly opposite the hotel plus I could relish good Norwegian delights/ food in nearby restaurants besides blossomed summer flowers, go to some real good pubs/bars which had live jazz bands. Overall I liked my stay in Stefan at a reasonable tariff in an expensive country !! Hope this is useful..

Room Tip: Try to choose a room on the other side of the road than the tram line, if you love peace.

“Nice hotel with a good location in the center of Oslo”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

My friend and I ended up with a business room in Hotel Stefan when we last visited Oslo at the beginning of November. The room was well sized, but the furniture could have been arranged a bit different to make more space for for example a sofa. The bed was placed in the middle of the room, and was buildt with a table for the tv on one end and with a desk at the other end. If they had placed the desk in a corner at the windows it would have given much more room and the bed could have been placed in the corner near the bathroom. They probably have had some interior designer to help them decorate the room, it was nice, but could have been even better. I visited the room of some friends who lived in a normal dubbleroom. It was a bit small, but nice and clean. The breakfast was ok, but because the hotell was fully booked this weekend it was a bit hard to get a table. I would reccomend the hotell to anyone visiting Oslo.
