The hotel is an excellent choice if you are looking for a low-cost alternative in a distinctly high cost city.
The rooms, while basic, are more than suitable for a no-frills stay in a handy location. In addition, the staff are helpful and considerate of the needs of the traveller.
We did have a problem with a later no show bill but after a phone hook up with Anna at the hotel this was amicably resolved and put down to a miscommunication and misunderstanding between the hotel and ourselves. Anna was both cognizant of the issues and patient in resolving what was an innocent misunderstanding on both sides and for this, we are grateful.
So all in all, a good stay and we would look forward to a return visit in the future.

I stayed in this hostel in September 2010. Excellent location as it is walking distance to many interesting places in Oslo including the harbor. Room has a facility for cooking and dining utensils are available for free at the frontdesk. The best deal for me is their reception area or Sala with plenty of books, magazines, etc. which one can read or even borrow. The old fashioned elevator is functional and very reliable. I feel secure staying in this hostel. The staff is also very helpful and kind.

This place was recommended by friends and I was very pleased with the result. The location is outstanding - easy walking of distance of all the sites in central Oslo, and with the stunning Royal Gardens on your doorstep.

My single room was basic, but clean and comfortable. The staff are VERY friendly and helpful.

Oslo is expensive, so I self-catered for several meals, and the ability to borrow some cutlery and crockery from the kitchen, and having a fridge in the room was great.

My room overlooked a busy street, with regular trams running past, so was a little noisy, but after a long day sightseeing it wasn't enough to keep me awake!

The hotel is indeed very well located, just some 10+ minutes by walking to the city center, and two tram lines passing nearby. Nice cafes and restaurants nearby as well. Rooms are a bit worn out and minimally furnished, but very clean and enough space. The beds were good. The fridge was handy and the staff provided kitchen utensils for loan on request. We found the staff helpful and friendly. All in all a no-fuss comfortable accommodation at a good value in Oslo.
