“great breakfast!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

We stayed here for two nights in late December, and were very pleased. The location is great - you can walk to the train station, the nobel prize center, the opera house, karl johansgate, the fort, etc. The room was clean and a decent size and the bed was comfortable - though a little too soft until we took off the pillowtop. It was also very quiet - when we checked in they asked us if we wanted a view, or a quiet room, which I really appreciated.

The breakfast blew our minds! eggs, bacon, beans, 4 kinds of bread, cold cuts, cheeses, vegetables, coffee, tea, and a couple kinds of juice. Also they make delicious little danish-y pastries which are mostly hot, since they are in such high demand. Our room cost about $120 US, which given that Oslo recently was named the world's most expensive city, seemed very reasonable. The staff were very friendly and helpful and even gave us recommendations to a brewpub.

“Great location, good hotel”

We stayed here for 3 nights with 2 adults and 1 child. Rooms have 2 twin beds, and a rollaway was added. As the rooms are fairly small (it is still Europe), we still had some space to move around. But after a day of walking around, visiting museums, we just wanted to lay down anyway.

We were staying in Norway for 1 week, and had brought 3 small suitcases with us. there was just no room to unpack all of your stuff, but it wasnt too big of a deal for us. Wifi worked great and was free. Breakfast was till 10 and gave us a good start in the morning.

Having never been to Oslo, we opted to buy the visitOslo pass at the tourist office. That is a great deal as it includes public transport and all of the local musea.

Oslo airport is about 45 minutes from the city center. Taking the train cost you about 20EUR pp. We opted to take a taxi, which ended up being only 600NOK total, so cheaper than the train. Make sure to talk to the taxi dispatcher as rates hugely differ per company.

All in all, it was a great trip, and i we return to Oslo, we would definately consider the hotel again,

“Good value for money.....15 mins walk from oslo s central train station.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

Solid little hotel that with very modern decor. Only stayed one night but for £85 a night i couldn't find fault with it. You get a decent buffet breakfast in the morning, the staff were friendly and attentive. The room itself was small but for the price it was sufficient and modern. Had a bit of a problem when i got to the room as electricity wasn't switched on (thus no air con so it was exceedingly hot) but that was rectified by reception within 25 mins. No problem really.

Room Tip: try not to get a room by the elevator (as i did (room 611).....it is noisy!

“Recommended. Not nearly as shabby as some would have you believe.”

Typical Scandinavian minimalist...no drawers, no wardrobe or closet, fairly hard beds, and only a few very small shelves. But it was clean, well-located in Oslo, had a very nice bathroom, and was staffed by friendly people. It was not our first choice, but all the larger hotels were already booked. We came in at night (by taxi) and were a bit concerned about the location, but we found over the next few days that it was a very convenient place to be staying. It's only two blocks from the main pedestrian area in the Sentrum and one block from several bus and tram stops. Our stay was for four days over the 2011/2012 New Year's weekend. We would have no hesitation in staying there again. The breakfast buffet, which is included in the price, is really a treat. I was very impressed by the selection and quality of the food. Plus, there's a bar right next to the reception desk (literally). I see that another guest found some maintenan issues, but we saw nothing that wasn't working properly and in good shape.

Room Tip: Stay on the side away from the tram.

“Dreary and depressing; but you might like it if you own a polyester suit”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

Stayed here NYE 2011/12 as everything was booked out. The hotel is shabby in that depressing, down-at-heel, corner-cutting kind of way. Low quality beds, empty bathroom amenities, broken doors, curtains etc. The vibe is Brighton Rock updated.
