Our room, and I think only our room, had a pipe within the wall that buzzed and vibrated whenever anyone turned on water, or flushed a toilet, in the hotel. That really needs to be repaired, and maybe it has been by the time you read this. The hotel staff were aware of the problem.
The rooms facing Narvik, and the breakfast room, have a great view of the town.
The hotel is within walking distance of the town, the Red Cross Museum, and the train station.
Lonely Planet recommends taking a scenic train ride from Narvik into Sweden and back. The station in Sweden is at a winter resort that was deserted in June; absolutely nothing was open. To make matters worse, the Swedish railway cancelled the return trip and we waited 2 1/2 hours for a bus.
